Spent 3 Nights @ the Yacht Club

We spent three nights 12/16-12/19 at the Yacht Club and loved it. Up to now our favorite has been the AKL, but I think we've got a new fav. We didn't find the YC formal or stuffy, just quiet and low key. It was a great trip.

My husband and I stayed in November and loved it too!!
We couln't wait to go back so we are going the end of April. We stayed at the AKL the first two nights of our trip and we really liked it... but we fell in love with the Yacht club.
We thought all of the Cast memebers were outstanding!!! They really made it a magical vacation for us!!!

What type of room did you have? Did the resort seem really crowded? How was check-in?

Before we stayed there in 2002 I really had no desire to stay there. It did look stuffy to me. Then once we stayed there I loved it. Our room was great, loved the theme, having the 2 queens and a daybed was perfect for our family. You just cant beat the Epcot location--I like it even better than the monorail resorts. I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again!

Could you talk about the buses a little please. Are they efficient? What order do they pick up and drop off when they are shared with other resorts? I am staying there in October, and that is my only real concern. thanks.

When we stayed there the bus pick up was Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC then Boardwalk. I have heard from someone who just stayed at the BWV that there were picking up Boardwalk first then going back the other way.

We had no problems with the busses at all!! The bus stop is very close. we were always picked up quickly, we had a few stops but we thought it moved along quickly. We only took the bus to AKL and MK. ( we had a car also but found this easier)You take the boat or walk to MGM and EPCOT. We liked taking the boats. We thought they were very realxing and were never over crowded at all.

I did not think that the resort felt crowded at all! In fact we went to visit other resorts and we even commented that ours seemed the quietest. ( We really liked that)

Check in was quick and easy. We were done in about ten minutes. We even got our room at 8:30 in the morning.

The rooms are very nice and lots of room . Also lots and lots of drawer space. More than i have even seen really.

The cast members are the best. We were very happy with them.

Our room was "standard" and we expected a parking lot view, but had a lovely view of the wedding gazebo from our very nice balcony. The room was immaculate and everything looked new and fresh. Bus service was great. In the evenings and on Saturday there was a CM at the bus stop to assist and call for additional busses as needed. This was truly a "magic" trip, especially as we were on a SOG overflow rate of $165 a night!

Shhh! Don't tell everyone. The Yacht Club is our favorite resort. We've stayed at WL, AKL, the Poly, and Port Orleans. The Yacht Club is by far our favorite. The location, the pool, and the staff, make this a premier resort.

Can you tell me about the daybed? Do you think it's large enough for a smallish 11 year old boy? Is it comfortable?

Glad to hear that you all enjoyed YC so much. We're trying it for the first time (splitting stay with GF) in July. I notice a lot of people think GF is stuffy (which we definitely do not) so I'm not worried about people who think YC is stuffy. I would love to know who had a good lake/Illuminations view - and if they remember where there room was?

Love YC and AKL. It's really a tough pick. It comes down to availabilty when we book our trips.

Day bed at YC is great. Plenty big emough and comfortable.
