haven't been to Orlando for 8 years, so I would like some advice on spending money. My wife and I are going for 8 nights staying onsite at Royal Pacific. We are not hiring a car and will only be visiting Universal, Seaworld, Aquatica or Volcano Bay and a day park entry to Animal kingdom and maybe Busch Gardens.
We intend to use taxis to get to I Drive for the Ride Trolley (for transport to Seaworld/Aquatica) and for restaurants on I Drive of an evening.
As the dollar rate is low compared to my previous experiences and I am unsure how much everything now costs regarding meals and Transport.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Yes our Great British pound exchange rate right now isn’t great.......I miss the $2 to the £ in the days of 2007!!

Have a check of the menu sticky on here

https://www.disboards.com/threads/w...do-including-menus-updated-regularly.2681315/

That gives you menus and prices for every hotel menu, also Citywalk and all park restaurants.

Bring up the Mears price checker......it gives you a price from say RP to I Drive.....it’s not too far. If you use the ODC outside the hotels it’s $20 plus tip to go to say where the Orlando Eye is. We never use regular cabs but they’ll be cheaper......can’t advise you on Uber or lyft either as we have our own car or use the ODC.

We still find it comparatively cheaper in the States regardless of the exchange rate.......but bring up offsite restaurant menus too, that’ll give you prices and you can budget accordingly.

There is a free shuttle from Universal to Seaworld (and I think Aquatica as well as Busch Gardens

They are set times but work out well IMO

Uber or Lyft are about half the cost of taxis. But, either way you can look up approximate fares on those websites or apps or Mears website for taxi rates.

After doing bags of research on spending for my forthcoming trip (25 days!) I went for a Monzo card, with that you get the international Mastercard exchange rate, just about all my spending money will be on that card, there is a fee for withdrawing cash, so I will be taking a small amount of dollar bills.

My advice, shop around, check out the money saving websites, I was doing all this back in September and sometimes I thought my brain was going to explode with all the info and options out there!

I was going to say as well that the Universal deluxe resorts have bus to Seaworld. I haven’t used it yet but may this trip if I can talk daughter into going to Seaworld with me. We’ve been to Aquatica which is fun, but this trip we plan on checking out the new Universal water park. It looks really fun.
To get to I Drive restaurants I’d either use Lyft or Uber or the car service at your resort. I won’t use regular taxis in OrLando. They cost lots and usually take advantage of you and take the long way. From my experience.

The value hotels have Seaworld transport too. Pick up at CityWalk. Schedule the day before in your hotel.

Thank you all for the replies, I was thinking more about how much money we would need as opposed to how to get about.
We are taking $2600 dollars for the trip to cover taxis, meals etc does that seem adequate ?.

much depends on the time of year you are going - RPR will be at best about 1600-1700 and you will still need tickets - but it gets you express pass
