Spending money for our children staying at a different resort?

If our children are staying at a different resort, can we somehow put spending money on their room keys so they can charge things? Our children, ages 15 and 17, are traveling by bus with their high school band and staying at All Star Music. (They're performing in a parade at MK). My wife and I are flying to Florida and staying at Art of Animation. We're not spending much time with our children, just watching them in the parade and maybe eating lunch once with them. I thought that when we checked in at AoA they could credit the kids' accounts for a couple hundred dollars and if they didn't use the money we'd get it back when we checked out? We are checking in before the kids check in, and we'll be checking out after the kids check out.

You are better off getting them Disney gift cards to use. I believe the other kids in the room will have access to the money listed on the acct because all of the room keys are linked to the room acct.

yeah, gift cards. In addition to what PP said, I think when you have school groups like that, there are automatically "no charging" priviledges.

What Kam1011 said. Schools lock charging as the school is paying for the room. Not sure how Disney does it, but schools have always paid by check at the hotels I have worked for.

When staying with a school group you can't do charging on your room card. Go with the disney gift cards.

If you're checking out after them then put it on giftcards then when you check out use thier gift cards to pay your balance on the room. That way you won't leave it sitting on the cards.

Excellent idea. I didn't want to leave anything on the unspent gift cards since we probably won't be back anytime soon.

Gift cards, or load up one of those visas that have a limit. Either way you can't go wrong! ;)
