Spending money for kids?

I know this is asked all the time and it varies for each family but what is a nice amount of spending money for kids for DW? We are doing the DDP and they will have to buy snacks beyond the one they get. DSS will be 13, DSD 9 and DD 2. In 07 they each started with $50 and DSS came home with some while DSD needed to borrow some.

The last 2 years, we had the boys save for the trip and matched what they managed to save (from their allowance). They got nothing else, but we paid for one snack per day. They each managed to save about $100 for the trips, so they had $200 each to spend. I then divided that up, and they got xxx per day. They could not borrow from a future day, but they could save up to buy something expensive later in the trip. My boys were 8 and 11 on our last trip (Nov). We are trying to teach them value - and they have both learned a great deal about the benefits of saving...

My kids, 11 7 and 4 had about $200 each and we were there for 2 weeks. They seemed to have plenty but we bought their snacks for them.
I didn't actually let the kids "have" their money with them. I paid for whatever they wanted and at the end of each night we subtracted what they had bought from the total on a piece of paper. This way they knew how much money they had left and I didn't have to carry 3 extra purses with me or worry about them loosing it. At the start of the trip all their money was in with mine and it seemed to work out well. Once we got home if they had any money left over I just gave it back to them

we do 20 a day for each of them they both baby sit and do odds and end jobs for the ppl around use but do things for me half of all money is safed for trips and bigg things they may need lol like a car some day lol
