I know this is abit of a how long is a piece of string question, but how much would you think 2 people would need for food for two weeks? I'm thinking it would mainly be eating WDW as we wouldnt have a car- mainly CS but maybe say 5 or 6 table service meals too. Last time we had DDP so it hard to tell how much we would need.

thanks

Our CS meals for 2 adults Inc main and drink were around $20-$25.

Then for the TS look at the menus for the restaurants you ar thinking of eating at and price it up not forgetting tax (6.5%) and tip (say 18%) and use that as a guide.

In 2008 we managed to spend £500 over 16 days for on adult and a six year old, mainly CS meals (brought our own cereal for breakfast and bought fruit at the foodcourt). This also included 3 character meals and tips. Since then we have used the QSDP and I noticed last year that food prices had gone up significantly since 2009. I kept all the receipts and had a spreadsheet on my laptop which I filled in every evening. We 'spent' over £1,000 in value on the QSDP and our TS meals which were paid for in cash/card. However it should be noted that we threw a LOT of food away and had around 40 snack credits to use up so had we ordered only what we needed, we would never have spent that on food.

If you are looking at keeping to a tighter budget it may be well worth looking into getting a few cases of bottled water and some snacks delivered to your room which. Those waters add up fast at $3 a bottle!! Another major saver is to buy the resort mug. For longer stays it is a big saver and we found it paid itself off by the start of the third day.

You need to get stuck into the menus (link at the very top of the page under Dining) and get a rough idea as the answer to this question is very subjective, depending on what, how much and how often you eat and drink.

I'd definately second getting a refillable mug. We LOVE these (and can't wait to get one of the new designs!). I drink mostly cherry coke with mine, and maybe a hot chocolate at night. But if you added up how much it would cost you to buy a bottle etc to drink the equivalent, you'd be shocked I think. And, drink is certainly something you don't want to skimp on in the Floridian heat :upsidedow

Oh, and if you want some water whilst you're in the parks...find somewhere that sells the fountain drinks, not the bottled water. You can get a cup of water for free (rather than $2.50-odd for bottled water) :thumbsup2

Look at the menus online either at WDW Info, AllEars or even WDW official website and price up everything you're likely to eat i.e. 2 counter services a day and 1 ts etc, add tax etc. Oh, and remember that at TS meals you tip on the amount BEFORE tax is added...that will save you a little over a few meals

I think how much you're likely to spend is an individual thing. We've got the free QSDP upgraded to DDP and are only going to have to pay for tips and any extras. If we were paying OOP we'd only likely have to pay for two counter services a day, as we don't eat breakfast much...some people have to have three meals a day etc :goodvibes

i'm also trying to figure this out as well! i can't remember how much me and dbf took when we went 2 years ago and we did mostly CS with 4-5 proper restaurant meals! i'd agree that the best thing to do is just check menu prices and try and calculate how much you need from there!
