Hi there,

We have been to Disney many times although we seem to overspend on everything, sometimes that little pre Christmas Toy r us trip costs mega bucks.

How much do you spend? we have allowed $3300.oo, all on those new AMEX TCC :smooth: , we don't have expensive tastes and generally eat breakfast in the room and some lunches.

Three of us and we take £2100 (the £100 is in dollars and the rest in TC). I don't have a credit card but it always lasts us. Every year we have been we always take the same amount, the first year was off-site and we got taxi's everywhere but the exchange rate was 1.90!! Last year we were on-site, so transport was sorted and we actually came back with about £300. We don't really do the "malls" as i don't like shopping but we eat in the parks and have 3/4 what i call "proper" meals, the rest being counter-service type meals. We buy loads of souveniers and don't go without anything. I would hate to get there and have to say no to the kids - that would be pointless.

I always think that it is the things that you buy before you go which mount up in cost (and i never take into account) clothes, toiletries, hair-do's before we go and stretch limo for transfer from CSR to HRH.....but what the heck...youre only here once!!

My daughter (aged 20) is taking £1000 but her's is all to spend at "Mall at Mallenium"

It varies greatly!

I have done a trip on a stict budget of $100 per day (2 adults and 2 children) and we didn't want for anything. This was mostly dining offsite and for a 2 week holiday.

We have never spent more than £100 per day though, even when staying and dining onsite 24/7. In Dec 04 this gave us $180 per day and Aug 05 about $175 per day.

A very difficult question to answer as it can depend on how much shopping you do etc, however I would be very surprised if $3300 is not plenty for your holiday and you will probably find you bring a decent amount back home.

We took $4000 last August but brought $1500 back home which I have kept and gradually added to for this August's holiday.

That amount was more than we had ever taken before, mainly because the $ rate was so good.

We`re low spenders, I think that`s because we stay onsite. We seem to budget about $50 - $60 each per day and that works out OK.
DD loves to shop at the end of each holiday I know the contents of each store backwards!

We tend to spend about £1200 -£1500 for the two of us but we don't shop much.

Don't want to think about it :rotfl2:

we put most things on the room key
and worry about it when we get home

This year we are on a package so most things will be paid before we go

DH some how can forget that the credit card has to be paid :furious:
Lucky him

Life is too short to worry

Every spare £ of our disposable income goes on our holidays (mainly Orlando) and we don't scrimp on anything. We spend a ridiculous amount of money, but that includes treating ourselves to things we don't have the rest of the year. For example, because we knew we would be in Orlando in January this year, we didn't buy Christmas presents for one another. When we were there, we bought golf clubs and shoes, a new iPod video, clothes, make-up, noise-cancelling Sony headphones, souvenirs (and those are just the things which immediately spring to mind). We also enjoy eating out at nice restuarants. And then there were a couple of rounds of golf, oh, and the Aerosmith tickets...

On top of that, we usually fly Virgin PE and stay in nice accommodation. But it's definitely a conscious choice. When I was younger, I could never understand people who spent on holidays - I wanted something tangible for my money. The older I get, though, the more I want to enjoy myself and I'm only truly happy if I have at least one holiday to look forward to.

Discounting flights and accommodation, we spent about £4000 for two of us in January. Our house is looking like a tip, though! ;) Every year I say we need to spend some money on it, but it never seems to happen.
