So yeah, today in my Driver's Ed class I was debating this with a friend of mine. Uncharacteristic of me I know, but we didn't have anything else to talk about. :confused3

Anyway, I said I like Spencers better. I mean, when I walked into Hot Topic, it just screamed, "Posers" to me. The type of store where someone would buy a Motley Crue shirt, and not know a single Motley Crue song.

Spencers on the otherhand, gave me that... :smokin: ...feel. I walked in there and felt like I wasn't in Emo heaven. More like rocker heaven. :confused3

Also another thing that won me over was the choice of music. Spencers was playing like Saliva or something, while Hot Topic was playing like, Hawthorn Heights or something.

But yeah, similar stores, but which one do you prefer?

I must admit though, I did like one thing I saw at Hot Topic. It was a Motley Crue hat, that kind of looked like this one....

...cept it said, "Dr. Feelgood Delivery Co.", and a picture of a marijuana leaf on it.

It was cool.

You're right! Hot Topic is more "emo", and full of a lot of young boys with flippy hair and eyeliner :rotfl: It used to be an awesome store, and they still sell some good stuff, but they try too hard. Spencer's is more fun!

Yeah, I was trying so hard not to laugh while I was in Hot Topic. I'm sorry, but I can hardly contain myself looking at all the emo kids in my school, let alone a Hot Topic.

My cousin, who is a Spencers girl, and completely awsome, was doing the same. :rotfl2:

It was cool because we saw this one REALLY emo dude looking at these retarted belts that were clearly made for girls. We walked up like right next to him and started saying how we don't understand the Emo guys who wear women's clothing. He shook his head and walked off. :lmao:

I don't really like either.

I bought shoes at hot topic a few times. And some purses at Spencer's and Hot Topic.

And when I want band shirts I usually just order them online.

Emo music brainwashes people into looking like clones :D

...and they all say they have their own style.

Spencers-EWW!!!!! It has such nasty stuff here.

Hot Topic- Not really into the whole gothic stuff but I mean to get star wars and harry potter stuff for brother or earring or stickers than sure

They all say they're so "unique".

But...I never try to talk to "emo" kids because they're really snobby. Like they're proud of being suicidal or something. They reminds me of gothic cheerleaders.

o_O

Actually Emo and Goth are two different things.

Emo made Goth hardcore.

Yeah. I wasn't saying they were the same.

All the kids who say they are emo eventually claim to be hardcore after they get tired with the fad. And in my opinion "hardcore" music is just...awful.

I am not a fan of emo music. I am more of a fan of hardcore metal and rock(I love a loud beat in music). so the choice of music in hottopic annoys me. They do have a few thigns that I like, as does spencers. I have no preferance.

but about emo guys in hot topic. Picture a guy about 6'2'' and RAIL THIN. with a foot tall green mohawk. and pants tighter than anything a stripper would ever put on and a hot pink tshirt with a blue handgun that said and I quote "bang bang" under it.

need I say more?

neither..........both creepo me out! :confused3 i'm more of a limited too or icing/claire's grl! :goodvibes

I like Spencers better. I bought this awesome poster of the painting Starry Night there.

Hot Topic has some cute stuff for people like me who don't want to go all-out grunge punk but like some of the punk-rocker clothing. Spencer gifts kinda freaks me out between the violence, nudity, rudeness, and all around classless-ness...I do like the glow in the dark section in the back tho :rainbow:

we don't have spencers or hot topic here in England

although we have a marks and spencers which sells clothes and food (they make the best food :))
