I know some of you are considering passports for your upcomming cruise. Well after 8 cruises we finially broke down and ordered ours.
We ordered them at the local Post Office on May 30 and they were delivered today, June 12. Less than 2 weeks. These are not renewals, although both of us have had passports before as kids.
We were surprised to get them so quickly. So if you are wanting a passport you probably still have time even if you are cruising soon.

We also ordered passports for ourselves and our children for our cruise next February and received them in two weeks. We were told it would take about eight weeks. I was impressed with how fast the passports got processed! Besides going on the cruise, we live near Detroit and go over to Canada quite often. It is much easier to use a passport to get through customs at the border.

Our passports were processed quickly too. We had the paperwork lying around for the longest time and finally got around to sending it in 6 weeks before the cruise. We thought it would be a close call... even had birth certificates set aside. But the passports arrived with plenty of time to spare.

I love taking a passport rather than a wrinkled folded-up birth certificate.

Now if only I could get a castaway cay stamp in it!
