Speculation about Screen and Scream event

We've done Membership Magic events but never any after hours paid events, so I don't know what to expect. I don't know if there has ever been anything close to this in the past to reference. If there was, we haven't been to it.
My 12yo son and I are attending. We will preview the movie in Disney Springs (instead of opting for the voucher). I am trying to figure out what to do between 3ish (when the movie is over) and 9:30.
Will there be lots of snacks given away at the theater?
My thought is that we eat a small lunch in the Springs, make our way to the movie, take a nap back at the resort and then grab something from Beach Club marketplace before we head over to Epcot. Maybe take a swim instead of a nap. Or should we just go to World of Disney for the duration between the two events?
The original event email says there will be "special Character sightings, snacks and more" Do you think they'll hand out vouchers for open snack areas like they've recently done for MM or just lines where they hand out popcorn and ice cream? There aren't many snack kiosks in the Discovery area. I don't want to have a heavy dinner and then end up with 8 vouchers for snacks.
Has anyone heard if the entire front of the park is going to be open or just Discovery?
I have so many questions and the information is pretty limited! lol The confirmation email says they'll send another email the week before the event but that doesn't help with reservations for today when there is a slim possibility of finding something beforehand.

I don’t think there has been an event like this before…I’d plan for having a meal somewhere and then adjust plans when more info comes out.

I think the event is just in world discovery and snacks handed out in that area, so I'd do dinner first.

I think you're probably right but I hope they open other areas. I hope I didn't waste $200 on a movie I could have watched at a theater at home and one ride on Guardians.

D23 had a pay for after hours event shortly after Guardians opened and just had the 1 ride available, at least this event should also have Mission Space and hopefully Test Track as well. Basically DVC has only rented the one section of the park for this event and the rest of the park is closed (can't even leave thru the international gateway.)

I have no feedback for the overall event, but I can tell you that when I went to the DVC preview of Incredibles 2 at DS we were given a free popcorn and a beverage. Also had to turn in our phones!

I went for Encanto and they had us seal up our phone in a pouch but we got to keep our phones.
