Grand Mariner!! :rotfl: Somehow I missed that... but as a "cheap date" myself and being on my second drink, I'm sure I missed more than the mariner!

My yummy drink, which helped keep me warm, was indeed a French Kiss. I asked for something fizzy & fruity and that is what the gentleman at the kiosk helped me decide upon. Unfortunately I didn't mark my notes with the ingredients. Pomegranate sounds good to me. :thumbsup2

I felt like having the Grand Marnier (orange) and Tracy chose the Grey Goose (lemon) slush:

Loving the game!!! And all of you found something tasty! :thumbsup2 I need to take notes to try some of these things.

I'm sure Brook is trying some of them right now!!

I am enjoying all your sip and snack updates. Thanks for sharing some yummy things I never knew about - like the tangerine coffee. That looks perfect for a cold night. And, of course, the slushies look good any time of day or night, warm or cold weather.

We weren't going to let a little chill get in the way of that slushie goodness!

...And thanks for such a fun, creative and thoughtful game, Ladies. I loved the idea!!

Thanks, it really added an extra dash of fun to our tour of World Showcase!

Aw, I'm sorry the sandwich didn't hit the spot, it looked like it had a LOT of whatever cheese it was on it.

Fun seeing all of the sip and snacks!

I agree; looked like a SLAB rather than a slice!

I definitely want to try that sometime! I did write "pomegranate" next to "French Kiss," but that was all. The note-taking was getting a little sloppy by then!

Recommended... and you should have more appropriate temps for it that we did!! :sunny:

I was in the French bakery with Jess and Amy and I had decided that I needed something more then sweets to eat. I was eyeing something in the cases but I just couldn't make up my mind so I left. How many times have you done that at Disney? Too many for me because it's always a time waster! So I headed to the UK with the intension of grabbing fish and chips and heading back to France to re-join everyone....knowning that they would still be there. But then I decided I needed to sit to eat.....then I realized where I ended up and what time it was.....the girls needed to get to me instead of me going back to them :wizard:

Anyway, I inadvertently kept my friends laughing because instead of saying “Grand Marnier”, I kept calling it “Grand Mariner” (as in, Rhyme of the Ancient___!) They jokingly corrected me several times, but it was no use… especially after I had slurped down the second one!

I'm sure that it was me correcting your "Grand Mariner" :lmao: I had to school most of you ladies about booze that night! :rotfl2::rolleyes1

No Kathy I didn't have a drink ;) my husband and I don't drink (call me the big fuddy duddy, lol), I think in part due to all the drinking we both did in college (he was in a frat and I was in a sorority) but I thoroughly enjoy watching everyone enjoying their drinks and that is why I gladly volunteered to take the photo. :goodvibes Maybe in future trips I might try one, especially if I ever make it to F&W festival and they are smallerish doses

That turned out to be a great stroke of genius!!

I'm just laughing at how I couldn't get it right, even after doing it several times! Of course, the 80 proof licqueur had absolutely nothing to do with that...

That's an excellent idea! :thumbsup2

Yummy Yummy! I will not be enjoying any of those lovely french drinks on this trip but I have had the Grand Marnier and it is so good. I am looking forward to indulging in a carmel or two from the shop in Germany though!

Loving your reports, can't wait to read more. :surfweb:

Glad you braved the cold for a slushie!!

I am sure Brook did have one. It is so hot down there right now, you need one to try to keep cool.:lmao:

Ok, time to stop lurking and actually post!

I'm having soooo much fun reading about your ladies' adventure :cool1:. It's so neat when you can get a group of people together and they mesh as well as you did. I think the sip n' snack activity was genius; you should sell the idea to Disney as "Kim Possible: With Food"!

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's stories; you all have such beautiful children and families. Isn't it great that there is a place like Disney where you can enjoy family and friends, that all ages/abilities can enjoy? :goodvibes

:rotfl2: That's exactly what I was thinking! Count me in as a fellow 'cheap date' - I didn't remember the mariner either!

You got it!! :thumbsup2

:teacher: What a fun class that would be!

I'd lost track of you when Kathy and I stopped to say hello to the French server ;) but you certainly ended up in the right spot!

Hello and thanks for delurking! Our little group is awesome and I'm eternally grateful that we have each other.

Disney has done absolute wonders for us.... :goodvibes Just tonight Ariana stepped way out of her comfort zone eating broccoli and cauliflower for the first time ever - just because I'd called it Edna's Vegetable Medley tray! (It was our movie night tonight and we watched the Incredibles.) We also played a game where she had to work together with Demetri and her verbalization was great! :thumbsup2

What a fun way to explore Epcot and try new things! One of those drinks is on my to do list for my trip this fall!

We received the text(s) from Heidi where she was and headed on that way…

As we got close the EP version of the Beatles :rockband: was playing and you could hear them on the main walkway…I know Amy and I were getting our 1960’s Beatles craze on…

Heidi had found us a great spot near the wall w/ several tables and chairs that was off to the side of the QS Yorkshire County Fish Shop.

We got settled in and then Heidi and I went off for another Grey Goose Run for herself and Kathy …at first I was just going w/ Heidi to help carry but then decided to get a 2nd one too. (Heidi actually bought it for me and i bought her a souvie later at AK the next day in exchnage) We didn’t get the little fancy flute glasses this time but asked for plastic cups (like they put beer in)…think we got a bit more in there :rolleyes1 …We had a fun time talking and walking back trying not to slosh our drinks...

Once back to the tables we chatted

and several of us ate the treats I had been carrying around since Norway. I had school bread…it was tasty w/ my Grey Goose LOL I just have to laugh at the word combo of eating something w/ the word school in it and I was drinking premium liquor.

We had to guard our little coveted table area from some families in particular this one family who were tempting to lift their kids over the garden railing into the table area to stand in front of us…seriously? :confused3

Here are some pix from the show…we had a great side view:

(they aren't in order but a combination from the night from various cameras)

Continued next post....

After the show was over we gathered our stuff (and threw away our garbage) I had attempted to save my first plastic glass form my first Grey Goose but it got broken later in the evening…oh well. (I know I am that silly ;)) We needed to take a restroom break at the restrooms right behind us in UK and nearby were the Red phones…do you remember I alluded to some more fun we ‘d had here earlier in the beginning of this Epic long ongoing Post about our EP night?

Well as Jess and I were having fun and Amy was dialing the phones off her cell, " Hello is this is the Queen ..." the middle phone rang so I answered it, but it wasn’t Amy…it was some guy. When he asked who I was…I said I was Scrappie J- and he replied he was Scrappie J-J….haha :lmao:

We had a pretty good laugh over that. :rotfl:

Next we split up for a little bit. Amy, Heidi and I went to see Captain EO while Kathy, Jess, Anne Marie and Tracy went over to Mouse Gear to do some shopping the plan was to meet up outside the Land to go on Soarin. It was now officially the evening EMH and most of us were still rearing to go…not sure if the multitude of alcohol we have consumed had anything to do w/ it…but sillies were about to begin… :dance3:

--------------------------------------------

Now I have never seen the Captain EO show before nor do I usually drink 3 large alcoholic slushie drinks…the mixture of the two…made me a bit loopy and as I remarked laughing those grey goosies have me my loosie.

100_3305.jpg

After giggling our way through the show, Heidi, Amy and I took a pit stop in the “best” restroom at Disney :thumbsup2

And then went to sit outside the Land to wait for the others. And then the infamous 3-semi juiced up Spectrum Mom concert began…

I really didn’t think any one of us was drunk…but we were having a blast late at night at Disney, it was a wonderfully cool evening and seriously we were just enjoying each other’s company…we began signing outload songs off our phones and other guests would walk by and applaud “oh look some entertainment” one guest said…

to be continued....popcorn::

What a funny night!! After we made our way to the AWESOME seats that Heidi had found for us and after I had finished my "French Kiss", I went for a bathroom break & to get some coffee from the little stand just past the UK. I think Jess had gone over a little earlier to get some and it looked like just what I needed since it was so cold out. It hit the spot!

Apparently I missed the family trying to push the little girl in front of us... It's a bit foggy but I also remember a little girl (maybe the same one) telling her parents she needed to go to the bathroom, but they wouldn't take her since the show was just getting ready to begin! Unfortunately I think she peed her pants!

After the most wonderful viewing of Illuminations we had a good laugh at the telephone booths! While "Scrappie-J" was chatting with "Scrappie-J-J", I was pretending to be the Queen & watching the reaction of the guest on the other end of the phone from a distance. It was one of those times that I laughed so hard I was crying & was having a hard time getting myself back under control. :rotfl:

Then off to Captain EO... that was wacky! I think you have to have a few drinks under your belt to enjoy that attraction at all! :rolleyes1

While waiting for the rest of the gang to finish shopping & catch up with us at the Land, we had to do something to keep ourselves warm! I think that's how the whole concert started. I think Julie was trying to show us a dance or something she did in high school? Then we decided to find some good 80s music in our phones. Good times. :thumbsup2

I think Julie must have been searching for a song. Notice the new hat she picked up at the stand outside Captain EO:
