Spectrum Moms Take on The World! Our Last Day...Multiple Posts!

I took this bad picture of Heidi sipping on her Toront-ini... Sorry, Heidi, caught you mid-blink! Her beverage sure looked good, but I remember her saying it was warm. Ugh!

We had lovely surroundings, though... Victoria Gardens a la World Showcase.

Never fear... I've got an equally bad picture of me with drink in hand coming up later... ;)

Next Up: CHINA!

No worries there were far worst pictures of me taken that weekend....you people were camera crazy! I didn't do myself any favors that night with my hair but I didn't want to wear my hat again.

I FINALLY caught up! Gosh that took a while for me!
(Oooppss....guess I should introduce myself)

I'm Jenny, I have two boys, 6 (almost 7) and 4...my oldest was diagnosed at 3 with Pdd-NOS, but we seem to be moving more towards classic Autism every day. We took the boys to WDW for the first time in July of 2009. We were so worried about the trip and about how Christopher would do (he had just turned 5 at the time and Brian was 2-almost 3), we were completely surprised at how he reacted to Disney World, he loved it so much...he was focused and talking to me more and stimming less and it was just such an amazing experience so we have been addicted ever since. Planning our fifth trip this June for his 7th birthday and we are so excited that he gets to spend his birthday in our most favorite place in the world.

Anyways...enough about me! I love reading about your trip, it sounds like it was an amazing time! I love the scarves and Spectrum mom shirts...they look great!

Next time you should take an even number of ladies so everyone has a riding buddy...(hint hint) ;)

I can't wait to read more!!

Day Three
Epcot ~ World Showcase

We had pretty much agreed that in order to fulfill our Sip ‘N Snack assignments in World Showcase it would be necessary to split up at times. I found myself paired with Jessica and we strolled in a counter-clockwise direction from Norway to China. We were in MY country now!

I had been given the task of finding something white for either sip or snack. It was dinnertime and I was feeling a little hungry for “real food.” I had left the Bakeri with my mouth watering for the cloudberry horn that was wrapped up and tucked away in my bag for later. Unfortunately, my tummy wasn’t feeling the greatest, so I searched and searched for something “small” that would fit the requirement of the game. I ended up at the Lotus Blossom Café where I ordered a kid’s meal Sweet-and-Sour Chicken with steamed rice.

I know, I know. I can hear you groaning. I’m extremely disappointed in myself for making such a mundane choice, but I simply wasn’t feeling anything else. In any case, I fulfilled my task! As we were sitting at a little table in the café the other moms walked past, headed toward the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, which houses Reflections of China. It was time for the acrobats to perform and because of the drizzly weather the show had been moved indoors. I told Jessica to go ahead – and here’s where I made a big mistake – I quickly gobbled up the rest of my dinner so that I could join the group.

As we were preparing to enter the building I began to feel unwell. Suffice it to say, I missed the performance because I was in the Ladies’ Room! The others took some pix, though.

If you check the website for WDW Live Entertainment you will note that the acrobats are no longer listed. Instead, guests will enjoy a traditional Lion Dance. http://wdwent.com/

“The medallion inset into the top of the prayer hall is an important symbol for the building and is representative of the Chinese culture. The dragon and the phoenix each carry meaning – the dragon is indicative of power and the phoenix represents peace and prosperity. Together they signify a marriage.”

By now the sun had completely set; it was already damp and now it was getting chilly. I was glad that I had a turtleneck under my sweatshirt and my cozy new spectrum scarf to keep me warm! We continued onward in our counter-clockwise direction toward… do you know what pavilion comes next? (No peeking at maps, now!)

Kathy

I know, I know! It's Germany! I'll put my answer in white so others can guess.

So white rice isn't so exciting....I bet you didn't feel that way when it decided to make a u-turn in your tummy! :sad2: Sorry you were sick...no fun.

Yes... and glad it was only a kid's meal portion, too!

Ah well, more room for dessert!

we all felt quite bad for Kathy when we heard she had been  (we had been wondering what happend to her :sad2:)...but no worries she will recover by the time we make it almost all the way around.

Thanks, Kathy for including the pic of myself w/ Mulan...she is one of my fav characters and I love how it seems to be the same lady every time I see her :goodvibes

Ok, I admit it... I groaned. Not only because I totally biffed that one in the Sip and Snack Game, but also because of your upset tummy. YOu poor thing- no one should have to get sick at Disney. In fact, I think I should lobby Congress for a bill to passed saying so.

 Thanks, Liesa! I'll definitely sign that petition!

No worries here, though. "The wave" passed quickly...

Kathy

I would have picked rice too :rotfl:. I loved your pictures. I am so sorry you weren't feeling well. Glad you had your spectrum scarf to keep warm, they are so adorable.

I'm sure I would have been eating white rice too! ;)

I'm sorry you weren't feeling good - but you bounced back really fast!
