So I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that SpectroMagic is not coming back:sad1: I am now on the hunt to find the best SpectroMagic video available. For years I simply logged onto Spectromagic.com and enjoyed an amazing version of the parade. The website is now down and after reviewing so-so versions on youtube and purchasing a copy of the parade from eBay for $13, I was wondering if anyone is aware of a high quality taping that can bring me back to my happy place that was once SpectroMagic. Does anyone have the version that was on spectromagic.com? It was really outstanding:worship:

On this magic night,
A million starts will play beside us,
Cast a spell of light
Glimmering, shimmering, carousel-ling
Round the world tonight,
A symphony in SpectroMagic
Pure enchantment lights our way!

I feel ya

My DS always has Disney CDs in my car player and the CD of the moment has been our Spectromagic one .... gives me goosebumps and makes me sad at the same time.

I often go to You Tube and play versions of the parade. I love the music so much. I think they know how much people liked the parade and will bring it back for a limited time or special event. What do you all think?:):thumbsup2

I love MSEP, but I have the Spectro music on my iPod, and I have phases where I really miss that parade. I think it was the first one I saw at Disney too. Plus, it had Ursula, and she's my fave!

Not much remains of the parade. A couple of years ago, it was confirmed most units no longer existed. From Wikipedia:
"On July 1, 2013 Disney officials confirmed that all of the SpectroMagic Units were destroyed due to poor storage conditions, and the parade has been permanently retired. Some small elements from the parade were saved for possible future use."

Though it saddens me, it's true that many of the floats were destroyed because they were in poor condition. Mostly due to the weather conditions(Florida isn't kind to wood), and the way they were stored. I worked PAC during my CP in 2010 and got to see Spectro many many times. It's my favorite parade and am sad that my (future) children will never get to see it live. I miss it all the time!

It's silly but I have some of the little plastic light covers that covered some lights(they are just the same as you'd find on some Christmas tree lights.). They would fall off the floats sometimes and my friend and I would give em to each other. I kept mine and plan to keep em for a long while.

I miss this parade so much too. My daughter is 14 and it is the Disney parade I remember from when she was younger. She barely remembers the parade except from seeing videos. But like me, she loves the music. She has it on iTunes and when we do the 750 piece Disney panorama puzzles together we listen to Spectro and Wishes. But we definitely listen to Spectro more. She is now wanting to buy one of the pins for sale that contain a piece of the items used in the parade.

I've been feeling it recently. The music alone would be enough. What the deal with those Spectromagic Pins they were selling? Are they still for sale?

You know, it is funny. I love that the parades change, and look forward to the new one when it comes along, but I miss Spectromagic. I liked MSEP, but I really love Spectro! I never got tired of seeing those colorful floats making their way down Main Street, and I am among those who wish it could return.

What makes things worse it that the new digital music track of the current version of MSEP at MK is second-rate.
It lacks the "character" of the original Moog synthesizer tracks that were used for many years in prior versions of the Electrical Parade.

i love the Main street electrical parade, but it would be nice for spectro to come back - however if we did get it back im sure the time would come when we would want the MSEP parade back lol
