Spectromagic Music

Generally, it seems that most people prefer the nighttime parade they first saw. Of course, there are exceptions, but for the most part it holds true. For me, it my first trip to WDW in 1979.

I guess I must be one of the exceptions. ;) My first trip to WDW was also in 1979 (April), I was 12 years old. I remember loving the parade but I do not rememeber the music. I do love the the music to Spectro though. :rolleyes1

The Electrical Parade is on hiatus at this time. I think they are supposed to bring it back for several weeks around Christmas and then it will close down again.
Really? This Christmas? That would be great. I love Spectro, but would also love to see the Main Street Electrical Parade again.

Safetymom,
Is there a big differnce between the two parades? Like I said, I remember liking it when I first saw it in 1979 but I do not remember too much about it. I rememebr it was beautiful and had alot of lights. (Kinda like Spectro. ;) )

Well all of the floats and the music is different. It is the same general idea - parade with lights- but it is an entirely different parade.

I think the Electrical parade is larger and grander than Spectro. I think they are both good but different.

Yes dutchess 1968 is sligtly mistaken. The techno music she is talking about was never from SpectroMagic. It is from the Main Street Electrical Parade.

I have that box set, too. The MSEP music, "Baroque Hoedown," is my single favorite track. I can picture that gigantic pink elephant every time I hear it. I'm pretty sure the box set is out of print, but you can pick it up used online.

I got the boxed set of music from my local library, and ya, the main street electrical parade song is my fav. :) the part I remember most is the big pete's dragon with pete. :) Was so sad that it's not at Disneyworld, anymore anyways, it's the parade my family always saw at DL while I was growing up.

Spectro actually has more floats. MSEP has 26 floats, while SpectroMagic has 31 floats plus 6 spectroman globes. Thus it is really 26-37.
