I was just thinking. . .I recently had the chance to see the Spectromagic Parade, and during that time had the feeling that some of the floats were a little creepy. First, those spinning doll-faced things at the very beginning, and of course Urusula.. I had thought these things to myself, but then at the end of the parade a young mother who was standing next to me said, "Don't you think, that was just a little creepy?"

So I knew it wasn't just me! ;)

Of course I still loved it, the lights, music, and especially the peacock,. . but some were still creepy nonetheless! :D

I like Spectro. The only thing I think is creepy is the dragon and flying horses from Fantasia. DD4 cried the rest of the parade after that float! We saw it twice on our last trip and it wasn't in there the second night- I hear the dragon sometimes has problems. Anyway, DD enjoyed it much more without it!!! I wish they would take it out completely!

Since Spectro also includes Disney's Villians, I guess one could say it isn't all love and sunshine...but neither are fairy tales.

Everyone is different. We love Spectromagic. My son was 2 the first ime he saw Spectro and didn't have a problem then or in the following years.

Sorry to hear some little ones were upset.

I don't find the villians creepy at all (hmm... funny) but I was a little creeped out by those doll things. Too many "Talky Tina" and "Chuckie" stories, I suppose.

Wow - I thought I was the only one who thought the doll things at the beginning were creepy. I think it's the mask-like faces combined with the way they shake their heads side to side.

I love Spectro though, especially Chip n Dale Liberace style!!

LOL!!! Well at least I know I'm not crazy. . .at least in this aspect! ;) Yep, it *was* those doll-things in the beginning that weirded me out!

The music *is* wonderful, however. On an earlier night I took the kids into the MK to see the fireworks, and saw the tailend of the parade heading down Main Street. I couldn't wait to get back and see the parade on another night!!! Moreso than my kids! LOL!

Ya know, I kind of think that the little kids of today are so much more stimulated via video games and cartoons, that all this doesn't have as much of an affect on them as it does some of us "older" folks. . What do you think?

HunnyPots........Wasn't "Talky Tina" a great story !?!?
That one was my very favorite Twilight Zones.

Anyway.....those Spectromagic doll faces are a little bit creepy,
but I guess that's why I like it so much.

I don't think they are creepy, but I also do not understand what they have to do with Disney. Other than that, I love Spectromagic! The music is so catchy. It is my favorite! I have an mp3 of it on my computer and could listen to it over and over again.

I've always thought the dolls were creepy, but I do love the parade on the whole. It will still never beat the Electric Light Parade for me though.

I have to disagree with DW and say the guys with the white faces are definitely creepy. Where the heck did they come from? What are they? Luckily there are lots of pretty lights and sounds to distract my mind so I don't end up thinking about them for too long.

not to mention those creepy ones riding on top of the lighted balls... they sit up there and seem to be just a "little too into" flashing there crotches at everyone.... i guess they are supposedly dancing... whatever, looks rude to me... it creeped my wife and I, as well as the other couple out...

~*~JK---Where did you get the mp3 of the Spectromagic Music? I'd love to find that!!

Been meaning to catch up with techology and get myself an Mp3 player. . .hehe. . .

Ann

I found it on http://www.spectromagic.com/. It also has a video of the parade.

If you don't have a portable mp3 player, you can get a free one for your computer at www.winamp.com. That way you can listen to it right at your desk as long as you have speakers.

Wow!!! Thanks a million!!! This is cool, because my youngest missed the parade, as he had to stay at the hotel room with my h for getting in trouble at the pool! ;)

Can't wait to show it to him!

I make that remark about the white faced men (?) every time. We have it on video and they always weird me out alittle. After that, I love the parade.

I too used CREEPY when I talked about those dolls in the beginning...I really couldn't figure out where they came from....i thought I was the only one!

I love the parade, they are just weird!!

So is anyone gonna tell us....where are those dolls from. Spectro is my fave parade all except those dolls they are soooo creepy. Get rid of them.

Well, I've never been allowed to see Spectro. DD (13) saw it on a school trip to WDW and when we went in March there was no way, no how she was going to watch that parade.

"Mom--there are this big dolls with no faces and they FREAK ME OUT!" I really had no clue what she was talking about but she was VERY vehement. Thanks for the info!
