When there is only one Spectromagic parade on a given night,...

1) Does the parade start on Main Street and work its way back through Adventureland? Or vice versa?

2) How long does it take for the first float of the parade to reach the backstage area again? ie. how long does it take for each float to make the full circuit?

For a once a night parade, Main St to Splash.

I would say maybe 30-45 minutes, not really positive on the time.

A great one it is.

I've never timed it, but it's an amazing parade. Not to be missed - and I'm not a real parade groupie either.

The parade goes from Town Square, Main Street, Hub in front of the castle, Liberty Square, Frontierland. It does not enter Adventureland.

One time we were standing by Hall of Presidents, it took about 20 minutes from the start time to reach us (i.e. 8:20 for the 8:00 parade).

I know I am talking to one in the know here, Samirella, but I just went and looked at my pictures from last Dec and there was two Spectros on 12/7 (saw them both) and the first one went Splash to Town Square. The pictures would be in that link I have in my signature some where. Does it change periodically, or was it different then?

I'm not really sure why it changes. I do know that one night a couple weeks ago, when there were two, they both started at Town Square and ended at Splash. I do recall in years past watching the second parade travel from Splash to Town Square.
