Specto cancelled 15-29 Aug?

Just read that Liberty Square is to be refurbished 15-29 Aug, it then say specto is cancelled. Does it just mean from this area or all together?

Only 2 times a week Its going to end up jam packed and with huge crowds at HS the days its shown.

I remember post 9-11 that spectro was run 1-2 times a week in the off peak, and MK fireworks were not every night. Got a feeling that Fantasmic was not nightly either. MK would reg close at 7pm too.

The only fireworks show you can almost def say will be on each night is illuminations at EPCOT.

Just remember reduced shows mean in general reduced crowds, Id prefer a half empty park with shorter hours to a jam packed park with shows every night.

Just stumbled over this thread - didn't realise Spectro was going & Fantasmic being cut down!!

Where did you guys here about these so I can go and check what else is going for next years trip!!

Just checked the calendar via another link and looked at the Parades & Shows and it shows that Spectro still running when there are EMH in the MK is that right? That is right up until January which is as far as they have planned at the mo.

Just to make it clear - as far as I am aware spectro has not been cut as far as I am aware- apart from the last 2 weeks of Aug but that is to do with the repair of the bridge the floats pass over.

In the past if crowds are lower they do cut things like opening hours and spectro/fireworks, it remains to be seen how things pan out, Disney can and do change things at very short notice!

Hadn't seen this before nor the possibility of fantasmic reduced showing...where can I get more info?

Yes, just to be absolutely clear, Spectro is postponed during the Liberty Square Bridge rehab, not cancelled altogether.

There is a a news feed on the DIS home page (Updates, bottom left) which is worth checking out regularly. This information is listed.

I can't find details of the changes at LTT here on the DIS, but it is reported on AllEars.

I see that there are double showings of Spectro every night 1st through 12th August and again on 31st (9pm & 11pm). On 13th, 14th and 30th (i.e. the nights immediately before and after the closure period) there's just one showing at 9pm. Assuming it wasn't my only option, I'd be avoiding those 3 dates and going for the later showing on one of the others.

Thanks for the info - will check out the links - my Dad missed Spectro last time round due to a bad lightning storm overhead and they couldn't run the show so he's keen to see it next year!

Afraid so. Same for us we're there 16/8-30/8. I'm very disapointed as the EMH's are only 1 morning & 1 evening per park per week & none at the water parks and no Pirates & princess party, guess we will be reviewing when we go for next time.

We are taking my mam and dad for their first disney trip 16th-30th Aug so i am gutted that they will not see spectro first the 747s stopped by TCD then the main pool at CBR and now spectro! not having the greatest of luck for our third trip,not to worry we will still have a fab time

Wrong about Spectro. Spectromagic is not running during the refurb because that is the route is takes. Once refurb is complete then Spectro will start again. It does run every night anyway
