Spectators

Hello everyone

My mum and stepdad are coming with us to WDW to watch my husband and I run the half marathon during marathon weekend. They are staying at Saratoga Springs, and will not have the use of a car. How/where will they be able to spectate? Also, will they be able to get to the finish line to meet us?

Jo,

The best bet is to have them come to the race with you on the marathon bussing. It means leaving before 4 AM and some downtime for them, but it is the sure way to get out to the race course.

As you get off the bus on race morning, you will see a brightly lit area where runners are held until time to leave for the corral. This staging area also serves as the family reunion area. While waiting to be called to the start, pick out a point in the area to meet up. Once you are called to the corrals, your parents would simply head to the monorail. The monorail will drop them at the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC). From there they have two options.

The first option is to hop the Magic Kingdom monorail and head to Main Street in MK. They can enter the main street area free for the race. After you pass, they would simply head back to Epcot and wait for you at the finish.

The other viewing option is to set up camp at the TTC. Once you pass, they can walk over to the Poly resort, have a hot drink then watch you pass the Poly. From the Poly, they can walk back to the TTC and then take the monorail back to Epcot for the finish.

They can see you approach the finish line. The bleachers immediately in front of the line are reserved for the Chear Spectators. After you pass, they would then move to the family reunion area where you would meet up.
