Hello :) So we are staying on property but will be in Orlando for my husband's business trip prior. It would be nice to separate out our ticket "package" but cannot do so on the disneyworld website. Q is... would it be possible to buy tickets somewhere else AND link up our resort magic bands? Here is what I'm looking for:

7 day park hopper, waterparks & more tix for my son and I (this way we can visit waterparks/parks prior to being on property)

1 6 day park hopper ticket for my husband, and he will partake in a waterpark one day so we can just buy that ala cart.

I know that Disney is clever and likes to wrap everything into packages, but it seems silly to buy DH 7 days worth of waterpark tickets when in reality he will only be park hoppping and using regular park tickets for 6 days. Complicated to explain, so appreciate any advice you can offer!

You're perfectly welcome to book a room-only reservation and then purchase tickets separately, either from Disney or from a third party. All you have to do to link separately purchased tickets to your resort MagicBands is link the tickets and bands to the same MyDisneyExperience account.

If your husband is already going to have PH on his ticket, though, adding WPF&M is still cheaper than a single-day water park ticket.

If you are going to get tickets elsewhere, I would recommend Undercover Tourist. They have the best prices and are very reliable. You can get more info. on them on Mousesavers.com. The only thing to consider with the room-only reservation is if the package deal you get includes anything else that benefits you (like free dining) which you would need a package with tickets to book. Then it might be worth it to pay for one extra day for DH.

This is worth a special note to the OP and anyone looking in:

As ravenclawtrekkie said above, buying the "Water Parks Fun and More" option
on a Hopper Ticket will cost MUCH LESS than buying a stand-alone Water Park one-day ticket.
(Plus, it will offer all of the additional benefits of a multi-day WPF&M ticket.)

Thanks so much everyone, now it's time to price things out! :)

Make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. Some sites include tax and shipping in their quotes and some do not. You will likely save $30-$60 by using an authorized reseller. It's not a lot of money but ordering does not take much time. Adding the tickets to MDE is a matter of keying the ticket number.
