We were originally using hotel points at WDW Swan for 11/24-12/1 (had already purchased park tickets from Universal Tourist). When free dining promotion became available, we scrapped the Swan and booked Port Orleans-Riverside.
BUT - my plan was to then move my Swan reservation on points to the week before, get a refund on my Universal Tourist tickets, and just add a few extra days on my park tickets through the Magic Your Way package (from 7 days to 10 days).
However, the CM I spoke with said that I could only use those "added days" in the package on the backend of the trip because the park tickets purchased in the package wouldn't become officially "valid" for use until 11/24 (check-in date).
Can anybody think of a work around here? I really don't want to use my $1200 worth of Universal Tourist tickets when I should be able to spend just a few hundred dollars to add days to my package. It's really frustrating me as I thought I had it all worked out in my head. You'd think Disney would want me to stay longer at WDW and spend more money?
