Has anyone ever taken the "Wishes Cruise"?

I just reserved a "Wishes Specialty Cruise" this morning for December and know nothing about it all. I was on the phone with DVC MS this morning and it was suggested to me as an alternative to the Illuminations Cruise as the Illuminations Cruise was not available for my original preferred date. So I reserved it and afterwards, ended up getting my third choice of preferred dates for the Illuminations Cruise. So I am curious what it is all about and what to expect or if I should simply cancel it and just do the Illuminations Cruise or keep both reservations. Any input would be helpful... Thanks in advance!

I'm hoping to hear some of the same info. I'll be there at the same time. Have Wishes booked because Illuminations is sold out. I keep checking for cancellations, but no luck. When are your Cruises? Maybe I'll see you there.

We recently did both. Wishes on August 23rd and Illuminations on August 28th.

We enjoyed them both, however, the Illuminations cruise we found to be a much better experience.

For Wishes, there is no audio on the boat, and Wishes really is a story, so if you cannot hear it, you are missing out on a big part of it. If it is your only opportunity to see Wishes, then I'd advise viewing it where you can hear it and see it.

The Illuminations cruise was just spectacular in every way.:D

Good Luck, and keep trying. The night we went on the Illuminations cruise there was a last minute cancelation and the boat just sat there empty.!

We did a Wishes cruise in May. We had a wonderful time as a whole evening experience, and I would do it again. I have never done an Illuminations cruise, though, so I can't compare it for you.

BUT if this is the only time you are seeing Wishes, I agree that you should see it from the park or at least some place where you can hear the narration/music. When we went on the cruise in May, we were lucky, because they were testing portable receivers that night. We had the full experience. Unfortunately, it sounds like that didn't work out for some reason.

The captain takes you on a brief tour around the two lakes and then sits directly in front of the castle for the fireworks. We just enjoyed being together and relaxing.

It's hard to say whether it's worth it to have two cruises in the same trip. Is there something else special you'd rather spend the money on? How long will you be at Disney, and are you using time that you can think of spending another way?

Beth
