Speciality Cakes Atlanta Area

My daughter's 16th birthday is at the end of March. I would like to get something a bit more special than the run of the mill grocery cake or ice cream cake. I'm looking for feedback on and suggestions for a speciality cake in the general Atlanta area. I live about 25 minutes or so south of Atlanta. She really wants something done with fondant. She is having a pink-white-silver-black 50s theme but also wants a bit of zebra striping thrown in. Any ideas?

I have not used them but I hear they're amazing.

I personally LOVE Publix's bakery and they make me whatever I need or I make it myself.

Probably too far North for you, but they're good and not as expensive as most it seems. We've been using the Snellville location for 22 years.

Thanks for the information. Since it is a special event, I don't mind driving to get the cake.

I know a lot of people like Publix, so I'm thinking we just have a bad one. I have yet to have a cake from our local store that I like.

Understood, it totally depends on the people working there. I used to like one particular one but they got a little sloppy so I moved my business to another nearby Publix. Turns out the manager I loved so much from the previous store was moved to that one!!

It's just a few miles from my house and would you believe I've never been there ! I had one of their cakes at a party and it was fabulous !

My cousin stopped by camicakes last year and she loved it. I'm not sure if they do cake cakes, but they do cupcakes. She's been wanting some more since she bought it but doesn't want to drive 90 minutes just to get a cake.
