Special Viewing Area for Illuminations

Does anyone know where the special viewing area is going to be? I was wondering if there were going to be several viewing areas?

There are several special viewing areas. My favorite is the Upper French Island. These can all be rented out at varying prices and with certain food and beverage minimums.

I know about the one over by France....I've actually been to a dessert party there and it was very nice. I would think they might also use the area by Italy as well. And perhaps the area over at then entrance to WS coming from FutureWorld. I have seen that area used for special occasions. But there are several spots they can use.
I'm wondering where I'll end up with this 'preferred viewing' of IllumiNations as a perk of the CP pkg.

The cast member I spoke with this morning said that they have several that they'll be using, and they'll assign you to one that night.

How does this work? Do you get issued a voucher at check in or something? Iv'e ssen this on our booking (one for special viewing for MK Wishes too) but don't know how I book it (if booking reqd!!)

If you booked through Disney UK the Illuminations viewing area is by the Morocco pavillion. The view there is OK, but you can't see the fountains very well and the sound is kind of behind you. The Wishes viewing area is on a lower terrace at the bottom of Main Street (can't remember the name), but the view from there is not good as there are trees blocking the castle. We choose to not even use our Wishes viewing area ticket.

I have also viewed Illuminations from the viewing area at the entrance to the world showcase (in between the 2 shops), this was the best view ever, the fireworks seemed to be coming overhead and you got a great view of the fountain effects.

We were lucky enough last Sunday to attend a party with the viewing area at the entrace to the world showcase, it was AMAZING!!! The best we have ever seen Illuminations!

the viewing area at Morocco is terrible. We won Illuminations viewing during the year of a million dreams. I much rather stand somewhere else on my own if that is one of the viewing areas. Yes the Italy area is great.

I've seen IllumiNations more times than I can remember...on the bridge between France and GB, at the special dessert area below that bridge, on a pontoon boatd, all around the showcase and over in between the two shops at the entrance to WS...without a doubt the best spot is the area between the two shops.
I made my two dd's (15 and 33) stop there to watch a week or so ago. They both whined that they had already seen IllumiNations and wanted to keep walking to do more shopping. Well....I forced them to stop, and boy, were they glad they did!! Both were really impressed with the difference it made standing there vs over on the other side of the lake.

I hope I manage to get that area with my pkg but will be happy with anything I guess.
