Special things

Were doing the pirate cruise too. I'm ordering up a basket of snacks and a mickey stuffed animal to be delivered to our room the day we arrive from the disney florist. ALso ordered up a special dinner from private dining to be brought to our boat for our fireworks cruise. Also added the family magic tour. The invitations to the character dining was a great idea!!! I'm gonna have to do that for our trip.

:wave2: have you seen the bippidy bop boutique or whatever its called I think they have a pirates one too for boys. Something fun....also heard they have a lady bug release that is free over at the grand floridian. Seems fun to me. Or what about a hair cut on MAIN STREET at the barber shop...I hear they make a big deal. FUN!

We completely surprised the kids with the trip. I made them all disney boxes, the each had their favorite characters on them and inside was all sorts of disney clues like a princess wallet with american money matching disney hats and their boarding pass for their flight that was due to leave in a few hours.

I had packed everything for them so I picked up character shirts for them. When we went for the princess lunch in Epcot they had princess shirts, eeyore shirts for crystal palace, stitch shirts for o'hanas. This was there clue for what we were doing that day. Also it was a lot cheaper to buy the shirts at the Disney store on sale than to buy them souvenier shirts well we were there. Our youngest at the time got his first haircut at the barber shop in Magic Kingdom. He recieved first haircut ears and he was covered in Mickey stickers by the time he was done. They also blew bubbles to try to amuse him and also sprinkled his sisters with pixie dust.

I also buy goodie bags full of Disney stuff for the girls (3 and 7) Disney notebooks, pencils, jornals, stickers that sort of thing. Also each one got to choose one must do meal. My 7 yr old picked PSB and my 3 yr old (with help from Mom and Dad) picked Chef Mickeys. Then DH and I did the same. Each has a list of must do attractions and since DH and DD love Disney Quest thay are going together and then out to eat lunch as well, while DD 3 and I will go make a wand at the World of Disney store, splash in the fountains, go out for lunch. And since Mom and me and Dad and me one on one time is short we plan on making a point to spend extra time with each one of our DD's.

*I think one of the best things to do is to give the kids a disposable camera and let them take thier own pictures. This way when they get home and get them developed they have thier own reasons for taking them.
*You can also give them disney $$ and let them know that they can buy whatever they want.
*You can also have them pick out the restaurant.

Our most recent trip was a gift from Santa. (disclaimer -- santa is not really that extravagant -- cheap, actually --- we already had the trip planned for January and decided we didn't want to bust the bank getting expensive gifts, too.)

"Santa" filled a box full of Disney toys, games, candy etc. (little, cheap stuff. Think dollar store for the most part, with a few small Disney store items tossed in) Also lots of glittery, shimmery shred stuff that you'd use for gift bags. Mailed it ahead of time, so when we checked in there was a package addressed to The ________ Kids, with a return address of NOrth Pole.

And a card inside saying he hoped they had a magical time.

Thank you all so much for the great ideas. I will have to check out the lady bug release at GF. Lot's of great info from everyone. I really appreciate it very much.Great idea (the gift from santa sent ahead to the resort)! Very cool. ALso I had no idea about the pirate dress up store for boy's, we will definatly be stopping in. Thank you sooooo much!!!!
