I found lots of neat stuff to do for my DD but there does not seem to be to much geared towards boys. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Dis! Do you mean at WDW, or just in general? And if just "in general" where do you live? Here in Ohio, we have Cedar Point, Kings Island, Geauga Lake and tons of zoo's... The Wilds. Give us some more info and I'm sure we can give you ideas. My ds5 had tons to do at WDW!!

Welcome to DIS. You'll find all kinds of great info here.

You may want to do a search on the Pirates Cruise. Also check out the character meals like Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.

I would also like to know somethings to do with my DS7 at the world. They have sooooo much for the girls but not much for the boys. The things that I have heard about are the Pirate Cruise from the GF (was booked when we are going but I am still trying!!!), BBB does something like the Main Street Barber shop does...paint Mickey on the back of there heads. I was thinking there was something else but I can't remember right now. I think this is where Disney is lacking. I would be happy to pay for my son to do some kind of activity!!!

The Family Magic Tour is great for boys and girls. We did this in Dec. with DD6 and DS4 and they're still tlaking about it.

Sorry, I'm new to the boards. I was looking for something in WDW. Any of the parks. The pirate cruise sounds fun.I will definitely check into that. Does that fill up quickly?Has anyone been on it and do you think it is somethink my DD 4 would enjoy. She is a princess/tomboy going on 30.

I agree with laughinplace199. We just went June 14th, and my DDs (5 and 8) LOVED it! There were some boys on tour with us, and they were having a great time too!

I don't know when you are going, but I just read on the WDW website that they are having special pirate training from 7/7 (opening of new Pirates of the Carribean ride) through the end of August. This doesn't look like something you can sign up for, more of them picking kids out of the crowd, but still sounds like fun!

Just did the family magic tour. My DS 7 had a great time, but it was not really geared to my older children(DD 17 & DS 13). If you do the tour, see if it is given by a CM named Daniel. He was fabulous, and made evey child feel special, even the older ones.

I have 4 & 7 yr old Boys. Here are some thinks they have enjoyed over the years

Mouseboats

Dino dig at AK

Pirate Cruise - A MUST (kids only)

Carriage Ride at POR

Model Train Display at Germany (they will watch for an hour is we left them)

The Viking Boat at Norway

I have 2DS ages 3 and 6 and I am looking too.

I got them some pins to trade while we are there. But that is it so far.

I can't do the pirate cruise this year because DS3 can't go. I don't want to send one and not the other.

I'm taking my 3 yr. old DS solo this summer, so I'm looking for ideas, too. I'm considering the water mice (small powerboats), the hayride at FW, maybe miniature golf. One thing we've done with him before that I think we'll do again is the campfire movie at FW, free every night.

I send DS8 and DD7 on the Pirate Cruise and it is always a hit.

Also you can take the boys to watch WDW horses get new shoes at the Fort Wilderness Campground. Take a monorail from MK to the Contemporary and the boat over from the Contemporary. When you get off the boat head straight and then you'll see the petting zoo on your right with the pony rids and horse stable sort of behind the animals. Petting zoo is free, Pony rides are $4.00, watching the horses get shoed is free and playing on the beach after is free:)

I don't know if you're going to other parks but IOA has a Spiderman breakfast.

Last time we were in WDW ('03), DS was 6 and DD was 3. We signed them up for the Grand Adventure in Cooking b/c DD was too young for the cruise. They both loved it and still use their aprons that they decorated. Next time (04/07) we will do the Pirate Cruise. I think you need to reserve that 6 mos in advance. My son also really got into looking for Hidden Mickey's and still finds them around the house etc to this day. Next trip, I'm going to make up some index cards with clues and a scoring system for both kids. It really entertains them while wlaking around the parks, resorts, and while waiting for rides. I think the Main Street haircut would be fun for your son too. You've gotten some great suggestions which I will take advantage of too! Thanks for the great post!

Another idea is the fishing hole at POR. My two boys are older, but they are looking forward to trying this. Also, last trip we visited Disney Quest for the first time and my two boys (8 and 9 at the time) just loved this place! Another idea if you are looking for somewhere for ds to go...the Never Land Club at the Poly. My boys stayed here on a trip when they were 6 and 7 and they had a total blast!

The Grand Adventure in Cooking is similar to the Pirate Cruise in that it is a kids only activity. It takes place at the Grand Floridian, at the kids club. You drop off the kids for a few hours (and then parents go to the spa for a massage or hang by the pool or whatever). The kids decorate an apron and Chef hat with their handprints and names and then do some kind of a cooking project. They day my kids went, they made chocolate chip cookies. When they are done, they run around the lobby in the Chef outfits and (try to) hand out their treats to guests in the hotel. That part is pretty funny to watch because the kids are so darling and so excited - if some unsuspecting person goes wandering by they get accosted by all these kids. Some adults just can't be convinced to take a cookie and others are very gracious. I got some great photos of this. I recommend it! you can arrange it with 407-WDW-DINE I beleive, and should reserve as far in advance as you can. For planning, if you are going to have a late night one evening with Illuminations or Fantasia etc, then this is good activity for the next day because I think they don't start until 10am.

We went to the POR fishing hole on our last trip and not a single person there had so much as a nibble. The place was really charming and peaceful but DS8 and DD7 were disappointed that there were no fish to be had. To be fair it may be that I was there at the wrong time of year (Feb 15) but it was hot & sunny on the day of our visit.

There are a couple of other cruises you could check out if there is no availability on the GF pirate cruise. One is the Albatross cruise (pirate theme) out of YC/BC. There is a Jester cruise down the river at POR/POFQ, and a different pirate cruise out of CBR. For the Pirate Cruise at CBR, you need to call the marina directly. It is not in the general system yet. I think that you call to Dining for the other two.
