I know WDW has alot of special things for younger children like pirates and princess party. But is there special for an 11 year old boy. To old for the party and A little to young for Downtown Disney. Any suggestions.:confused3

DS was at WDW at 11. Something he really enjoyed was pressed penny machines & time at the pool. there was a LOT at DD he did enjoy too. The lego store is wonderful and there is a huge toy store that has a lot for older kids. The rainforest cafe is a fun place for an 11 year old to eat. Let him get the volcano desert. DS enjoyed eating at the WCC that trip as well as the prime time resturant. Sort of out of the character meals by then. He truly did not need anything special.. The parks themselves were and have always been enough to keep us all happy. Buy this age he was ridding everything but still indulged his mom is some of the "kid" stuff as well. He enjoyed fantasmic a lot that year, as well as illuminations. He wanted to spend more time at WS too. Epcot that year was his favorite park. We also did the MVMCP that trip and he enjoyed that as well. WE stayed that year at the WL and that was a great place for a 11 year old boy.

Have a blast. Those boys are special.

I think that he would love the Hoop de doo review show and also would probably like the sci fi diner as a place to eat. What about mini golf or surfing lessons at typhoon lagoon?

Surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon?????? Tell me more....I didnt even know they offered that.
Do you need to make reservations?
How much do they charge?

Thanks!

why would 11 be too old for the party? unless it's an activity aimed at say 10 and younger, most things should be interesting to an 11 year old....:confused3
my son is 14 and still enjoys most things disney-including the pirate party last year- but there is parasailing and tube riding on bay lake, disney quest also for older kids-
not to mention, just the parks themselves! give him a chance to decide what he likes..... my son enjoys the foods, and snacks and candies round the 'world'- heck,he still loves character meals......he doesn't play like when he was 6,but he still likes them;)

The resort arcade! My DS15 really likes to spend time at the arcade. He fills me in on the best games, whether I want to hear about them or not. :rotfl:

The resort arcade is great. when we were there in april 2006 our daughter 14 then took her brother who was 6 there to give us some quiet time. They had a great time. There was also Disney quest we havent been there *yet* but have heard wonderful things about it

My children are girls instead of boys, but the same issues apply, they are 12 and 14 now. They have really liked disney quest in the past, they were at a wonderful age for discovery cove when we went last year, and love the pools at the resorts and really had fun the day we went to typhoon lagoon. They don't think too much of mickey and minnie's houses anymore or the things in that section of magic kingdom, but love rides like Test Track and Soarin and Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster and put up with the other stuff because they know their mom, me, loves it. I hate to mention the "other" park, but some of the rides there are a bit bigger and faster and more to their liking, so we always manage a day or two there as well. There's something for every age.
