Well, I've been too busy to do a trip report since I got back from my November trip but I wanted to take time aside and just thank Hound for the itineray he made me for my first time doing EE. I tweaked it a little bit since we don't have kids but you have no idea how much it helped me so I will tell you. This is the order we did things as per Hounds advice:
Peter Pan
Matterhorn
Teacups
Pinocchio
Snow White
Buzz Lightyear

Let me just tell you, we were always one step ahead of the crowds. We went straight for PeterPan, we stopped to take video footage of everyone running to Nemo because it was funny and then we were still third in line for Peter Pan. We walked straight onto Matterhorn and the Teacups. On our way to Pinnocchio or Snowhite (I don't remember which anymore) we noticed the line for Peter Pan was waaaaaaay backed up so thank-god we did it when we did. So thank-you Hound, your plan works. It didn't occur to me to copy and paste your original plan since most people doing EE will have kids and I know you had dumbo on there and Mr. Toads wild ride I think.

Very cool!

But why no Toad's? Honestly, it's not very kid-like, kinda weird going through, um, Hades with your 3 year old...:upsidedow

Where is the original plan? If someone could point me to it, that would be great! Thanks!

Here is the original list Hound gave me:
- PP
- Dumbo
- Alice
- Matterhorn
- Toadie
- Pinocchio
- Snow White
- Carousel

We skipped Alice because it was closed and we skipped Toad because I don't like that ride. We skipped dumbo and the carousel as we don't have kids.

We will also want to do Casey's train, It's a Small World and the Canal boats, but they aren't on this list. Does that mean those lines aren't usually too long and should be done after everything listed here?

I don't think those rides are open during EE. In fact, Casey wasn't even running at park opening when we were there last month.

I was just the Macau in the Tiki Room. Just Parroting (Macau-ing?) time tested info that the experts like HydroGuy, DangerMouse, CannotWaitforDisney, DizzyAmi & a dozen others gave to me.

4 days of EE has proven to me that PP fills up immediately (& loads slowly), so if you delay just 5 min. in getting there, you'll waste 1/3 to 1/2 of your EE there.

So as DangerMouse says....

"PP first. PP ALWAYS first." ;)

So glad you had a great trip. :thumbsup2

(I'll be there in 5 days. )

Since they aren't available during EE, these are good rides to do EARLY on non-EE days. Or late evening any day. (especially Canal Boats).

We will be there next week, & I want to do the Canal Boats once in the morning & once in the evening.

We skipped Alice because it was closed and we skipped Toad because I don't like that ride. We skipped dumbo and the carousel as we don't have kids.

I have since read a HydroGuy post & liked his ideas, so I revised my list (which better indicates importance):

- PP
- Dumbo
- Alice
- Matterhorn

- Toadie/Teacups
- Carousel/Pinocchio/SnowWhite

- Buzz/SM

- Pick up FP at SM or Indy on the hour.

The first 4 are absolute. No bathroom breaks or photo ops until the first four are done.

Any rides can be ommitted because they are perceived to be too childish or too scary (such as Matterhorn or SW for the very young).

Also flexibility. If after the first four rides, you are walking by the Teacups or Carousel & you can "hop on" with no line....hop on. 4 minutes won't make or break Toadie or Pinocchio.

With time left over, I think it's a great time to do nearby Buzz (multiple times if you have it). Then ALWAYS start collecting FP on the hour.

But IMO.... all FL rides are worth doing (but during EE with no lines :thumbsup2 ).

This 50 y/o who loves Screamin', SM, & R&R RollerCoaster.....also LOVES Pinocchio, Alice & Toady. The theming & quality of those rides (& attention to detail) are so great & bring back fine memories.

With three teens I now get eyes rolled at me when I want us to ride PP, Toad, Alice, etc., but for the most part they go along with me. When I was a teen I could not tolerate these very well either, but now the only one I really do not care for is Dumbo. We skipped it on our last few trips.

As with everything, you have to maintain flexibility. On our day trip last month we were second in line at the gates and headed straight for FL on a non-EE day. And PP was first on the list. But it had a 10 minute delayed opening so we moved on to Matterhorn and then Alice. We came back twice more and PP was still not open after 40 minutes and we had to give up on PP for the day. I noticed it eventually opened but the line was its usual super length.

Finally, my last few early morning rides on Matterhorn have been really disappointing. I posted this observation on MiceChat a ways back and people concurred that it is much slower in the morning. Some people think it has to do with lubrication on the tracks which needs some friction for awhile to get it to function very well. Last month it seemed like we were barely moving. I might give Matterhorn one more chance in the morning and if it is still slow I will skip it during the morning FL jaunt and save it for a bit later in the morning or evening.

Thank you so much for posting that, Trey. I thought I was going nuts when I rode the MH on Friday late morning and had a great ride on the FL side, then rode both sides on Sat morning for EE and was shocked at how slow it felt. I thought maybe I had just lost my sensitivity to the rides after three days. :lmao:

Good to know it was actually slower and that it wasn't just my freaky mind.

I'm still "in like" with Matterhorn, but i know what you mean.

We'll still do it next week, but imo it doesn't have the speed or coolness of SM or Screamin. Nor does it have the theming (at least to me) of Alice, Toadie, PP & Pinocchio. (but we'll still do it.)

I am so pumped to do Monday EE next week....I'll let you know our thoughts on Matterhorn. DS is still 8 y/o, & likes all the above rides as much as me, so no "eye rolling" yet. pirate:

Everyone in my party rode it late Thursday night. They all complained how beat up they got.

My Ds5 and I rode it Saturday EE. It was the first time for both of us. We rode it 5 times in a row. I was fine. I thought everyone else was crazy for saying they got beat up on it.

So it sounds like what you all said rings true. At least for us it did.

Thanks so much for the great information. I am armed and ready to go with my schedule for EE on Thursday.
