Special Surprises

I have read where some people(Moms I'm sure :rotfl2: )leave "Tinkerbell" gifts for their kids in the room to find at the end of the day. I guess you just linger for a few minutes after they leave and put them out. I guess you could go as elaborate and expensive as you want, but I will probably use cheap Disney items that I find on sale. I think this could save on souvenirs once they catch on that Tinkerbell might leave something in the room for them.

www.peggssweetsandtreats.com Peggy who posts here as Feralpeg makes amazing gift baskets. Unlike most companies, YOU CHOOSE what goes INTO the basket. you set the price, nothing unwanted goes in. u can make it as elaborate or as cheap as you like.

I think the basket i do for my kids will have each getting an embroidered ears hat, a snack, a lanyard, an autograph book, a pen, and? And there will probably be some goodies in there for the rest of the family too. :O)

Oh the fun you will have. Just being there will be fantastic, but here are some thoughts:

1. Character meal -- if she is into princesses, she may enjoy dressing up or receiving a new tiara for a princess character meal!

2. Princess tea party at Grand Floridian.

3. Make a special autograph book together and search for favorite characters to sign it

4. Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt. There are hidden mickey books, and guest services will hand out a list of hidden mickeys as well. I read another thread where the poster mentioned a book that offered clues for WDW treasure hunts - it sounded fun.

5. Fireworks cruise.

6. Tinkerbell gifts are a lot of fun, as a previous poster stated

7. Pin trading - start trading for favorite characters. You can buy lots on e-bay inexpensively to get started.

8. A spa treatment or an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Boutique for some frou-frouing.

I love the idea of this thread and look forward to hearing what other suggest. Happy planning!

Did this last year with my DGD 1st trip. 1st night Tink left the Tinkerbell rolly polly thing out of the box of cereal. (a friend at work got this in her cereal and brought it to me) with a note welcoming her to WDW. 2nd night Minie Mouse small size purchased at the disney store on sale. 3rd night mickey and so on. On the night before her birthday breakfast at the castle, an invitation was left for her to appear for the royal breakfast at the castle along with a tinker bell cup. This was so much fun. I would leave these thing out after she had fallen asleep. Every day we came back the mousekeeper had put her toys in a different arrangement. SHe brought her princess babies with her that she received for her BD party prior to the trip since mom and dad could not come with us due to new baby. It was a lot of fun and you can come up with a lot of ideas. I bought many things at Dollar tree last year as they had a lot of diney items including color books etc.

I did the Tinkerbell gifts for my DD two years ago. She was turning 7 during our trip. I found small Disney theme things at Dollar Tree and other stores and left them next to her bed with a little note from Tinkerbell that I printed on the computer before we left home. They even coordinated with what we were doing each day. If we were going to MGM, it said something about not to miss Beauty and the Beast show, etc..

Some of the things I gave her were, lip gloss, candy, notebooks, pencils, and stickers. She loved it! We are going again for her birthday this year. She asked me if I thought Tinkerbell would leave her anything again. I wasn't planning on doing it this time, because she is turning 9, but maybe I will.

I'm leaving the gifts out for her to find when we come in for our midday break too. I have a "cheap" gift bag for each day that I decorated with stickers of certain characters. I have gathered from the dollar stores, etc stuff for the last couple months. Each bag says who it is from. Each day she will get something from different characters. I have a Tinkerbell bag that will be filled with primarly Tinkerbell stuff. One day will be primarily from the Princesses (the day we are eating the Princess Dinner). The first bag will be from Mickey and Minnie of course - they have been the hardest about finding things to go in. We're also doing Cars (can find things for that everywhere) and Toy Story (one of her current favs).

I also read on here that someone leaves 2 pins under their kids pillows from Tinkerbell that they discover every morning. I am thinking of doing this now as I have pins to give her everyday and this sounds like a cute way to do it. I think I'm going to print little business size cards with a note from Tinkerbell telling her to look under her pillow and set them by her toothbrush or somewhere that I know she'll see them when she gets up!
