I am leaving in 6 days (Yeah!!!) and am trying to come up with some special ideas to give to my family while on the trip.

I thought about matching t-shirts or something like that, but thought I would turn to the pros.

Anyone out there have any suggestions of what I can buy, take, do that would make a special vacation even more special? We are flying down from Ohio. Staying at POR.

My family is me, DW, DS (10 yr), DD (7 yr), and DS (5 yr).

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a Disney Store near you??? Right now they have beach towels for $5.99! Get a big beach bag, and fill it with beach towel for each person, some flip flops , sun glasses and sun block- add some snacks you're kids and DW will love it!

Oh the possibilities! I love the matching shirt idea, on every trip my entire family has at least two or three days when we wear matching shirts. The first one is on the way down, then any other times during the trip. These are the days when I make it a point to take family pictures! So I love that idea, you could go to the Disney store, and buy some matching shirts, that would be cute! Also, you could go to www.disneyflorist.com I believe that is the web site and order a basket of goodies to have sent to your room. They are on the expensive side but is def. cute and magical. I would also buy little snacks that you could throw in a bag and take to the park with you. That way if you are in a long line and your children get hungry then you are prepared and have something they can munch on. Along with that you could also buy little toys or little things that you can give you children to do while waiting in line, because you might have to wait in some long lines, and to avoid boredom, I would pack like a doodle pad or what ever they enjoy playing with. Do you have any reservations any where? I would def. reccommend The Crystal Palace in MK they have great food! and the characters are cool! Also for breakfast 1900 Park Fare is great, and that is in the GF. I hope this helps. Have a very magical trip!!! Tell the Mouse I said HIII!!! :yay:

Maybe a pirate themed or Mardi Gras shirt for the whole family in honor of POR? When we last stayed at the Poly, we all wore tiki shirts on our travel day down and matching Hawaiian shirts at the Luau.

Also, since my DW and DD already were DISers, I went to Home Depot and got a green swatch from the paint department in the Disney section (it's the shape of a Mickey head) and wrote their DIZ alias on each, laminated it and attached it to their small fanny packs. You can bet that other DISers noticed and introduced themselves as well.

One thing we did late that I liked was to make name tags at the Christmas shop in DTD. Now I ave saved them for next time. It's always fun to greet CMs by name, and it was a blast when they (and others) could do the same.

I like the idea of ordering Mouse Ears ahead of time and having each person's name embroidered on them.

Ask the hotel staff to put them in the room before your first day of arrival.

Last year I brought a little gift for each child (ds 8, dd 6) each day of the trip. The gifts were themed for what we were going to do that day (e.g. character breakfast day I gave them each an autograph book & pen, waterpark day I gave them a disney themed towel, pirate adventure cruise day I gave them a disposable camera to take their own pictures, etc.) Some days were really small gifts but they really loved the fun in it. As for carrying all that extra stuff along in my luggage....well I just pre-wrapped everything (except for something I had planned to buy at the parks - instead I just brought a gift bag) and shipped the gifts (and other stuff) ahead to the hotel UPS. It worked out great!!

Since my mom and I have been Disney trippin' and we go to Crystal Palace on ever trip, we always have matching outfits for our breakfast there. It's the one day in our trip when my mom actually doesn't mind having her picture taken and they're really cute too!

I went to Disneyshopping.com and designed our shirts. They don't have the phrase we want, but they did have characters we wanted. I'm taking the shirts to a local monogramming place and having them mongrammed with the phrase we want.
