Special seating requests?

I just booked my dining by calling Disney and realized I forgot to make a request for a table next to a window at the California Grill so that we can watch the fireworks. Can I do this online and if so, how? Or do I have to call back?

I just called and the woman on the phone said she couldn't put any special requests in ahead of time and that I would have to speak with someone that evening at the podium when we arrive. I guess things have changed, I remember making special requests in the past.

I'm pretty sure that at all of the restuarants you have to make the request when you check in and then its not a certainty. We have had some good luck and some not so good with this. We requested a table on the patio at Rose and Crown so we could watch Illuminations and we got it. We wanted to sit by the tank at Coral Reef and they told us we would have to wait a extra 45 mins., so it just depends. I guess if you are willing to wait a while to get the special table that you want you will probably get it. I think most of the time the try their best to work with you.

You cannot add a table location request to a reservation, but when you check in at the podium you can ask the CMs. They will do their best, but it is just a request and not guaranteed. It will depend on the restaurant's policy because some will not take table requests and you'll be seated at the next available table for your party size. At others it will depend on how busy the restaurant is that night, how many are in your party, what is the time of your reservation, how many have made the same request before you and are still waiting. At CG many parties ask for a window table, but there is also a deck where you can get the same view of the fireworks.
