Anyone know if the addition of "Request specific tables and dining rotations." is new? There's no place to do so on the next screen (only the dietary and celebrations), but maybe that's coming soon. We've always requested a dining rotation in the past through our TA or by calling...

This would be a great addition. I always feel bad when I have to bother a cast member to request a server or a table for just our party. I'm sure this is to cut down on the traffic on the DCL call center. Hopefully they get it working soon. I can custom order a drink from Starbucks down to how many pumps of syrup I want in a drink on their app, but I can't request a private table on DCL without a phone call? Keep up with the times DCL.

I’m hoping that at some point they’ll allow you to pick your dining rotation when you check in… however based on their last ‘upgrade’ this may be a long time coming.

I used this section to request a booster seat, bed rails, high chair and crib! Great that I didn't have to call in.

You have to click on View All under Next Steps, and Special Requests is at the bottom.

Mine doesn't reference dining rotations, though.

Private table?

Pre-Covid, DCL would put multiple travel parties at a table, but you could call in and request a private table for your party, and they would try their best to accommodate the request. Generally they could. Many people have posted that they liked meeting other people and DCL did a good job matching ages, etc.

And yet it didn't always work out. Once I was put at what I still refer to as the "solo dump" table where they just dumped everyone sailing solo. Me and two guys. They got along famously - talking finance, real estate, and obviously being VERY conservative. I - very liberal and math gives me a headache - spent the whole first night reading the book on my nook and asked to change 2 nights later (the second night I was eating at Palo) and got my own table. My head server - who still had my table - came to check on me, and I asked him to please assure my first server and assistant that it was NOT them and he said "Oh, Miss Elizabeth. We knew that. We could tell from iour first interaction that it was not a good match, and we were all surprised you lasted there the first night."

I'll just point out it says "requesting" dining rotation, not "picking". Not that you'll actually get what you request.
