I was just wondering how often special requests are honored or maybe fulfilled is a better word because I know they do there best but can't do them all.

When we stay at other Disney resorts we get the VIP cleaning with detergents with no scents and guaranteed no smoking do to medical reasons. If I pay cash to rent a DVC property will they still do this for us? If we are members will it still happen?

Also there are some physical limitations in our party if I request a building with a elevator will they try to accomodate us if possible?

Thanks in advance Dave Goofydad Dionne

But double check by going to the disabilities line... I think that is the only way you can guarantee such items, but then it will have to be a handicapped accessible room.

This is one of my hot spots... They would only try to accomodate, not guarantee, unless it is a handicapped room.

Personally, I haven't heard specifically that special cleanings are available...but they very well may be. This would be a question for your DVC guide (salesman). Such cleaning probably have to be pre-arranged.

As far as an elevator, All DVCs have elevators, except OKW...OKW has elevators in 3 buildings. At OKW you should be able to request "First Floor or Elevator" for medical reasons.

But because of the high occupancy rates at DVC resorts, as goldilocks stated, requests are noted, but not "guaranteed."

Handicap rooms can be more or less "hard booked" through Special Services. Tell Member Services that you must have a guaranteed HC room, and request to be booked through Special Services.

Will they be able to guarantee no smoking do to medical reasons?

Thanks Dave

As far as I know, they do not "guarantee" non-smoking, and it did use to be an issue. More and more rooms at DVC resorts have been turned into non-smoking rooms, and we rarely hear of anyone not getting that request anymore. There is always the chance, unfortunately, that someone may have smoked in non-smoking room, but those reports are also becoming pretty rare. :)

Before this thread turns into a smoking debate, according to procedure, I need to close it and refer everyone to the ongoing DVC Smoking Thread

Given that you apparently have necessary health related concerns, let me also refer to our disABILITIES! Board the friendly folks there can probably address your specific health related needs better than here on the DVC boards :) At least one of the moderators (SueM in MN) there is also a DVCers, and is very familiar with the DVC protocols.
