Hi!

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to where would be a good place to have a special dinner for my in-laws 50th anniversary. The purpose of our Orlando trip is so we can all be together on their anniversary. (We all live far away from each other). We would like to do something like a small wedding cake and flowers as well. However, it has to be a place that would work with small children too, as we'll have a 2 month old baby by then and our son will be barely three - and is super active! They really like ballroom dancing, so if it would be a plus if that restaurant had that too.

I'm not going to be much help (except for a bump, maybe).

I don't think there is a restaurant with ballroom dancing, but there is a dance hall - Atlantic Dance Hall, I think it is called - on the boardwalk where they might enjoy dancing.

Disney Dining can help you with the little cake, I think.

Good luck getting better responses.

We had our wedding dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. There were 12 of us and they sat us in a private room (but any more probably wouldn't fit well). We also had a wedding cake made for us by the Yachtclub bakery and delivered to the dinner. We planned it through the manager at the steakhouse, and the head pastry chef at the bakery. Since Yachtsman is a Disney resturant there's no problem with young children, but it is a slightly dresser place, tank tops, swim suits and flip flops are discouraged. We even had special menus that had our names and the date on them and no prices as we were treating, we did take the lobster off though, and averaged about $34 per person, with out alchol. It was a very nice dinner and I highly recommend it to others.

Hope this helps.

Now there's a great combination of ideas! Dinner at Yachtsman, followed by a brief stroll over to Atlantic Dance Hall!

I too with agree with the private dining room in YSH. My only other suggestion would be to see about maybe a private violinst or one of the harpist they often use for weddings there. Don't know if it would be cost prohibitive but it might be a nice touch for your folks and surely they could dance a little. Whatever you do have a wonderful celebration.

Bumping again.
I know others had special dinners at the various restaurants--I've seen some going on at Narcoossees and Citricos (in addition to the already mentioned YSH).
