Special mommy-daughter thing?

My DD7 would definitely not like the tea at GF. And she also is pretty much done with the characters.(We go to WDW at least 3x a year) She likes to "do" things. We took her on the Behind the Seeds tour last summer. It was interesting, but I wish the group was smaller. I think we are going to book the Family Magic Tour next time. She really enjoyed looking for the eggs last Easter.

. I'm doing this with the 3 older kids at Japan. It is a fun experience! From my perspective, it's really cheesey and kind of a waste of time and money, and kind of yucky, but the kids get so excited that I get excited. So, I'm looking forward to it!
You may have a very jealous 7 year old if she gets excluded from pick a pearl. My DD 8 has loved that experience since she was 4 or 5 and loves her special charm or necklace from each trip. A few months ago I decided to do it with her as a mother/daughter thing instead of the usual her doing it by herself and it was great. We got matching settings and have matching special necklaces now. You could do something like mother/daughter manicures or pedicures at the grand Floridian spa, but I don't think my DD would want to be away from the parks to do something like that.

Dd has been asking to do the Behind the Seeds your since she was 6, but we have not gotten around to doing that one yet.

What if you two went on the Disney website together and you let her pick a restaurant to eat at - just the two of you?

DCbride, would your DD enjoy minigolf?

OP, good luck, and have fun! Mommy-daughter activities are so sweet. Mine is 10 now, and fortunately she still likes things like the tea. But the next trip is with my sister and a niece, so it will be different, but still special!

My daughter is one of the older 3 who will be doing the pearl in Japan. I also have a 2 year old who wouldn't give a flying fig. So I'm going to exclude him from that, and just take the older 3. But we will do the Crystal Palace Pooh meal for the toddler, so he'll get special stuff, too.

Lots of great advice here, mines a bit of a simpler approach. Last time we went, my daughter was 3 and we just did a "girly" day at MK. Yes, we did characters but I let her lead the day. She chose what she wanted to do and I just followed along. We didn't get nearly as much accomplished as when we follow my touring plans, but it was a very memorable day :). Maybe you could make planning the day part of the experience, let her chose the restaurant, park, rides, etc.

DD(11) and I did a mommy-daughter afternoon last week. We got manicures together at the GF Spa, went to tea at Garden View lounge, then spent an hour or so touring and shopping at the monorail resorts. It was nice!
