MK will be having a special EMH on Wed, 9/20. It's listed in their Preschooler Promotion stuff on the WDW webpage. It seems only Fantasyland will be open an hour early that day (if I'm reading it all correctly). This sounds great to me because we spend our mornings at Fantasyland anyway.

How crowded do you think it will be? If Fantasyland is the ONLY area to be open during that time, it seems that there isn't anywhere else for everyone to go. But on the other hand, those who only ride the "big" rides, like the Mt. rides, maybe won't bother showing up, especially since the early monring EMH will be the next day.

What do you think? Should we just skip it?

Where did you find the preschooler promotion page? I don't have children of any age but I have a friend who does and is heading down in December who might be interested.

Here's the info about it from the Dis pages:

When I looked at the EMH for September I did not see any differerence from the above. IMHO it is a marketing device to try to pull in guests with preschoolers on already established operating schedule during the low season (similar to free dining) . I could be wrong though.

PS We are visiting WDW September 24th to 30th

Well damn, I hope I don't have to replan my days for this.

So if I'm reading this correctly, Magic Kingdom will be open from 8:00am - 12:00am for resort guests on 9/24/06? A whole 16 hours???

Check what is open NOW. When we were at MK for early entry on June 6th, ONLY Fantasyland was open. We didn't hear or see or read anything that said that. We showed up and tried to go to Splash only to get turned away (ropes) and told only Fantasyland was open. :confused3 :confused3 It really put a kink in our day. :sad2:

Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open during morning EMH. It sounds like the preschool promotion is just what they normally have, but are trying to get families with small kids to go to it.

That's what I thought, too. But when you go to the WDW calendar site, they show Thursday mornings for early morning EMH. The above lists (in my earlier post) shows that this "special" EMH is for Sunday, Wed, and Friday mornings.

Was this for a regular EMH morning? How crowded did Fantasyland get? I'm thinking that if Fantasyland is the ONLY area open for EMH, it will be rather crowded and maybe we shouldn't even bother doing it. If other families go to the EMH morning to ride the "big" rides and find out only Fantasyland is open, they'll have nothing else to do but hang out in Fantasyland.

stupid question but does this mean that those without kids should stay home? We'd definitely like to take advantage of an hour (to do dumbo, carousel, etc) and one of the days is on my birthday - so an extra hour in the MK would rock.
