We will be going to disney in June 2008 and are taking both 4 year old girls to the bibbidi bobbidi boutique - can't wait!!!! However, we have 8 and 9 year old boys. Does anyone know if there is anything special for the boys?

I don't think that there is anything as equally as special as Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for boys. I looked into it too, but couldn't find anything. At MGM, there is the Jedi training that my boys loved, but it is not exclusive for boys and there is no guarantee that they will be picked for the training.

My Dh and I have discussed this several times. We think Disney needs to find something exciting for the boys. I have a daughter too, so I am not trying to exclude girls, but there are so many things attractive for the girls and only a few for the boys. A character dining experience with the characters from Star Wars, the Power Rangers, or even the pirates would lots of fun for boys, and maybe it would ease some of the pain the boys experience while dining with the princesses for their sisters. ;)

We couldn't think of anything... so dh is taking DS to the Monster Truck Jam this weekend as a 'boys thing' and then we will remind him of that when we go to take the girls for thier BBB thing on vacation... Boys can get a 'Cool dude' hair style at the BBB or at the Barbar shop on main st. which is much cheeper but is still kind neat (you can find pics of it on the BIG BBB here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1333944 ) .

This is a hard one. I too have often thought that there is WAY more for little girls than little boys at Disney.

I wish they would have some character meals geared towards boys. Like another poster said, Pirates, Toy Story, Star Wars, Power Rangers, etc. . .

What my boys did love on the last trip was going to the "Once Upon a Toy Store" at DTD and doing the "Build Your Own Lightsaber" experience. It is very fun and they each got to build a double-bladed lightsaber that lights up and makes sounds, plus a Jedi pin, for $19.95 each. They also enjoyed the "Stuff you own Pirate Skull". pirate: These displays were set up all over the parks and DTD. They were also $19.95 each. (There are pictures of these in my TR!)

There is a Pirate Cruise at CBR and another one at one of the deluxe resorts. We have not done these though.

We are going to try the breakfast with Stitch in May at the Poly!

My DS8 did the pirate cruise in May for his 8th birthday. He did the one from the Grand Floridian. He loved it!! They take them out on a boat, and stop at various locations to hunt treasure. They end up with a ton of loot, a Mickey pirate bandana, and a little lunch (an uncrustable, goldfish, juice box, etc.). It was well worth the money!

Hi Shelly!! How are you? Hope all is well and you are staying warm!!

Here are some ideas for boys:

* boys can get a 'do at the Main Street Barbershop...I have seen some nice spiky jobs w/glitter and a mickey head on back. I believe they also have a cool dude package at BBB.

* for boys and girls over 5, there is a cookie cooking progam at Epcot in the Soaring building food court.

* it would also be fun to have time to hit the arcades at Tomorrowland and the resorts as well as DisneyQuest

* the building stations at the Lego Store are heaven for my boys

* Consider conquering all the mountains at MK (Space, Splash and Thunder) and don't forget to hunt for the Yeti on Expedition Everest!

When is your next trip? You've got to pop over to the MAYer thread! It's still going strong!! Huggie, Mari, and I are all going in May again, and Sulley is there on the Disney College Plan!

I soo agree! Sometimes I feel like the boys are overlooked in all of the Princes magic.... Maybe because I have 3 boys. Too bad there wasnt a Power Rangers, Pirate, Indiana jones or Prince Character Meal. I know we'd be first inline!! I think that Lego Land in DTD is pretty "boyish". we are certainly making a stop there on one of our "down days".

I would love to know more about this! Times, costs,... Usually Iet the boys all haicuts befre we leave, but it might be fun to get their hair cut in a real barber shop AT DISNEY!? :wizard:
