My wife and I were listening to an old podcast today of an e-mail discussion show where people were asking about things to do for a special occassions while vacationing in WDW. We didn't know if anyone was aware of "gifts of a lifetime by Jane" or "memories by Betsy". My wife is a big fan of both and thought it would be nice to share our experiences with these great people.
Gifts of a lifetime is run by wonderful person named Jane- she offers a variety of services from personal shopping to room decorations to your own private photographer to planning special events in the parks for you to celebrate any occassion! In 2006 after a particularly hard year, my family and I were eagerly looking forward to a trip to Disney in October. Unbeknowst to me, my wife had arranged for our room to be decorated for Halloween, complete with a cake, spiders, ghosts, lights, streamers! and of course a "bubbling" cauldron. My son, mother and I loved it! In October 2007, my wife arranged for the room to be decorated in a "pirate" theme- complete with a parrot for my shoulder, treasure chest and swords for my son and I!
We returned to Disney in May this year for a "mini Dis trip" and this time we found personalized baskets waiting for us created by "memories by Betsy". Mine was a star wars basket, my son's was toy story and my mother's contained all kinds of bath and body stuff- disney style of course- compliments of my wife again!
It was a great way to start the vacation and both ladies were wonderful- it added a extra special touch of the Disney Magic! I thought it might be a topic to discuss on future shows- for services available outside of the normal hotel services offered by the Disney staff.
