Special Event or Special Dinner

Based on our time of arrival, we will most likely have an extra table service point to use during our trip.
We plan on going to Downtown Disney one day, and trying to decide if we should try and book a show that evening at one of the resorts - such as the Hoop De Doo Revue, Luau or use the 2 points for a really nice meal.
It would be for 2 adults, 2 kids - ages 4, 9.
Is it worth the two points for any of the shows and the food that they serve? I take my kids to shows/theatre alot in CT and NYC, so it would be nice to get that caliber of entertainment at Disney.

I think the best answer is it depends on which version of the dining plan you have. We have the regular DDP, and chose to do Hoop Dee Doo with my family (myself, hubby, DS) with 2 credits, and pay OOP for California Grill (our Anniversary dinner night out.) We'll be "dining to the nines" that night, and if I understand the changes correctly, our 2TS there would still only get us an entree and dessert. By paying out of pocket for that meal, we use up all our credits, instead of having an extra kid's TS credit that would go to waste if we used credits for cali and paid OOP for HDDR.....

If you have the delux DDP, then you would be eligible for app, entree, and dessert at a sig restaruant, so in my mind, the only "extra" you're paying for is grat at the sig restaruant. I know HDDR includes grat, and beer/wine/sangria, so that may factor into how to best use your credits, and which to pay OOP for....you just have to figure out what works best for your party!!
