I've been reading here a while but this is my first post:) I finally booked today for 6 nights as Shades of Green the first week in December, and now I am thinking about dining.

I will be travelling with my husband and two sons, both of whom will turn nine at Disney (but with different birthdays).

Anyway, I want to eat at a really special place the first night, but we won't be using a park pass until the day after we arrive. So what resort could we go to for something really special? I want to really celebrate being at Disney, but my husband would hate anything that he considers "Cheesy" like a Luau. Definitely not a character dinner. My boys are very good eaters - we all love seafood. No picky eaters here. What would feel very "Disney?"

The second night is one sons' birthday but I think we will eat at the Shark restaurant in Sea World.

So that leaves the second son's birthday ...... I want something fun. Something special, but again, not too cheesy! This time it could be in any park. What have you most loved?

After that, I guess we will save money and try to eat at the SOG restaurants!

I'm mildly germ phobic. I wouldn't rule out a buffet if one of my sons had his heart set on it or if it was really the coolest place at Disney, but I certainly would prefer not to eat at a buffet if I can avoid it!

How about Flying Fish? Great seafood, at the Boardwalk with lots of fun going on everynight. You can see some of Illuminations from the bridge if you plan right. Narcoossee's at the GF is great too, seafood with a nice view of Wishes!

Enjoy!

Well you have a few choices- Ohana and try to catch Wishes is just magical and a fun way to spend night one. Or you could eat at the California Grill for really nice meal and listen to the music piped in with the fireworks. It is a special place. Or you could eat at one of the restaurants on the Boardwalk and then walk around the boardwalk(Flying Fish is yummy!)
Now for son number 2 birthday Well you could do the Coral Reef(also in front of the fish tank) my kids love that place. Or perhaps the Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you(I am drawing a blank on the name) My kids picked those 2 as the ones they wanted to return to.

I am try hard to get up to speed on all the Disney lingo, and I didn't actually know what "wishes" is, but that sounds perfect! Thanks! Dana

Wishes is the fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom.

If your boys like to have a lot of fun, try Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge. It is rowdy and kind of loud, but my kids love it! They serve ribs, chicken...
