Special DVC color at front gate?

My husband just got the purple ring and "Welcome Home" at every park. His name is listed first on the contract but I am listed as an additional purchaser. I do have my own additional MDE account. I wonder why I did not get purple?

Do you have your own, separate DVC login and password? That’s what triggers the purple ring. If you both use the same login ID and password to access your DVC dashboard, then that’s why.

I'm a lowly blue card member, and I got pink consistently in January, and the new "Welcome Home" sound effect. Well, maybe it's new? I never heard it before.

Guests in your room aren't members and won't get it.

I got pink in December too. Wonder if that’s what others refer to as purple???

Yes, sometimes it looks purple to me and sometimes it looks pink. May have to do with ambient light/sunlight falling onto tapstile.

I think the color is the same as it's always been (pink/lavender/purple), but I do not remember any sound effect last December. That seems new.

The earliest I can remember hearing Mickey say "Welcome Home!" was last year sometime. But given how noisy it can be at the tapstiles, I put it down to possibly just not hearing it in the past!

I've had it since Jan 2021 (1st visit after buying into DVC) and some tapstyles are louder than others.

Both DH and I are on our deeds, both resell and direct and get the purple "Welcome Home" message. Although he has a special EPCOT 35th magic band, so he gets a different effect at that park.

I do not own DVC (blue or white card) but I do have an AP, and when I tap in lately, Mickey lights up purple for a moment before he turns green. My sister, also an AP holder, gets only green.

Perhaps Disney is thinking of giving me some DVC points!!! ha ha

My kids get a special light up for their MBs since their APs were bought for the 50th.

Both wife and I got the purple light every time we scanned into parks on our trip earlier this month. Dont remember hearing anything special as far as sound effect but also wasnt really paying close attention.
