Special Diets Team???

Ok, so when I made my ADRs at the 180 day window like a good girl, I let them know I was diabetic and asked them to note it down as a special dietary requirement.

This is the way I usually do it and though it honestly doesn't help and I'm usually stuck with a fruit bowl, I try anyway because you never know (Got a no added sugar Creme Brulee at the Brown Derby once, yummers!)

This time however the CM (DVC MS) told me that there was a new Special Diets team and that if I contacted them they could arrange special desserts at each of my ADRs. She gave me a phone number and email address (which I promptly lost) and told me to ring them at 30 days out.

Obviously I was over the moon with this as more often than not I do starter & main rather than main & desert.

So as it's close to that 30 day marker, I emailed DVC MS and asked for the details again, here's a snippet of my email and their reply.

When you make reservations, please let the Cast Member know that you are diabetic and they will note it on your reservation.

Ah,

As apart from a minor diet change and some pills to take it doesn't effect my life so I don't consider it a disability. I honestly didn't think to look there...

The email is specialdiets@disneyworld.com. They'll email you a form that you fill in with your name, vacation dates, dietary restrictions, ADRs and contact info. They take care of forwarding your info to each chef.
