I am pregnant and having a lot of problems with swelling. Because of this my doc is limiting my salt intake.

Is there anything special I need to know about making special requests when dining. I am sure that sauces on the side and asking for no additional salting on my meals should be okay but is there anyting else I need to do???

I would just mention it to your server. They can check with the chef to see which meals to avoid! And, you never know -- maybe the chef will offer to make something special for you! :flower:

My DH is on a very low sodium diet as well. When we went to WDW we just told our server and he had the chef help direct us. Sometimes it was as simple as "no sauce, no added salt" and sometimes it was a whole new meal, like at Hoop-Dee-Doo (Everything there is high in sodium!) You can usually have the vegetables done without salt. Stay away from soup-->1000mg sodium per bowl! Remember that processed foods of any kind are going to be high in sodium, as are most cereals, breads, and crackers(it's the baking powder/soda that does it). Fresh fruit for dessert. Ask you OB about using salt substitute--potassium chloride. If that's okay, carry a shaker with you to sprinkle your food.

DH really didn't have any trouble maintaining his diet for the week. He has to do it everyday--even taking one day off results in complications with his heart disease. We found the chefs at WDW to be very accomodating.
