Special diet - pureed foods at DL

Ds6 just got his g-tube in last week. He takes 100% of his nutrition with the tube. However, he can orally "eat" any kinds of liquids or pureed foods. We're heading to DL in July and I'm looking at the menus. There are just a few places that offer soups. The ice cream shops of course are perfect for him! :)

I'm trying to figure out (since this is all new to us), how the rest of the family can get our meals in while still including ds6? If we choose a sit-down restaurant, could they provide us something not on the menu? I don't want him to feel left out and just drinking a glass of milk while the rest of the family has a great meal. KWIM?

Btw, his tube is just temporary. He is having surgery on his esophagus 3 days after our DL trip. We're hoping it won't be long after surgery that he will be able to orally consume his daily calories.

TIA :)

Mary

Mashed potatoes and gravy? Pudding? Jello? Soups/broth? Milk shakes?

Edited - I just saw that you said DL NOT WDW. I shouldn't DIS at night. :)
Sorry, I posted the below before I realized it

I think every restaurant we were in had ice cream of some sort on the menu. Lots of creme brulee if he'd like that (w/o the sugar). The cheese soup at Le Cellier and the carrot soup at Boma are practically famous around here. :) and very yummy (you may need to leave the bacon off the cheese soup) The counter service in Morocco has hummus. Refried beans in Mexico?

You might want to dig around in any threads related to allergies. It sounds like the chefs are wonderfully accommodating and your request would be similar. The chefs will probably have some great ideas.

Hope you have a great trip.

Yes, those would be perfect, however, I didn't see them listed on most of the menus.

I've also heard that the chefs will accommodate for the meals at WDW, I wasn't sure about DL.
