Special Circumstances @ Resorts...

We are supposed to leave in a week for the Poly until the 27th. Unfortunately, my aunt (my dad's oldest sister) is in critical condition in ICU right now. They have given her no more than 48hrs. and we are going down to see her tomorrow morning. My question may seem ridiculous, but Disney is the happiest place on earth and I know we still will want to go on our vacation. However, assuming we need to leave later and stay later, can the resort accommodate us?

So sorry to learn about your aunt.

I don't have any first hand knowledger; however, my suspicion is that if Disney has availability they'd do what they could. If you have trip insurance, that might help as well. If you booked through a TA, and you feel up to it, you could call the TA now and explain what's happening to see what availability's like but at this point you could just be guessing at your change dates and would need to call again once you knew for sure what you plan to do.

Do you have airfare booked too or will you drive???? That might be tougher to change without incurring additional expense unless you have trip insurance.

Hang in there and expect that your TA or Disney if you dealt with them directly, will do whatever they can to adjust the dates for you as long as they have some availability.

Disney World is good in trying to accommodate you in situations like these. Give them a call and explain the circumstances. I'm sure they will try everything in their power to help you.

I am sure they will do what they can to accomodate. But call as soon as you can with any update. I am just thinking how booked they may be due to the holiday and spring break.
