I was wondering if Disneyland offers the following in December:

Candlelight Processional

Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party

If so, when does the information on these events become available?

Thanks in advance,

Kerry

Kerry,
I don't believe Disneyland has those special activities for Christmas. We were there the first week of December last year, and the only extras we saw were
1. Visiting Santa in his sleigh for Christmas pictures
2. The snow on main street
3. The Nightmare Before Christmas decorations in the Haunted
Mansion
Double check Disneyland's website to be sure, but I am 99% positive. Have a great trip!

I was really hoping that these events would be offered. I loved them at WDW a couple of years ago!!!

I will check out the Disney web site and if anyone else knows anything, please post.

Thanks!

They do have the Candlelight Processional, but not on the scale that they have it at WDW. It is usually the first full weekend in December. They do not have a MVMCP but we have the snow and parade during regular park hours. As well as other Christmas Shows. IMO it is better then MVMCP because it is included in regular park admission.

When do you think there will be some info available on the Candlelight Processional?

Thanks for your post!

The only information I can find (from mouseplanet.com ) says the event will be held Dec 6th and 7th. That the event is to be held on Main Street / Town Square due to the remodle of the Fantasyland Theatre. No other information was available, as of the publication of the article on Sept. 15.

You can always try calling or emailing disneyland (use the contact us link on the bottom of the page) for more information. If you do this don't forget to post here what you find out.

We will miss the CP because we arent even leaving Washington State until the 13!

I appreciate your info DisneyChrista.

I don't know what's in the MVMCP, but during the Christmas season, Disneyland has the following:

Starting some time in November:
* Christmas decorations go up
* Haunted Mansion is themed to Nightmare Before Christmas
* It's a Small World has Chrismtas theme, plus the decorations are outstanding -- think lots of lights
* Decorate cookies - Main Street & at New Orleans Square
* Dickens carolers & lighting of the Christmas tree
* Christmas themed fireworks with snow falling afterwards

Beginning on Thanksgiving:
* Christmas parade - twice a day

First or Second Weekend in December
* Candlelight Processional. (In the past, at Fantasyland Theater, you had to get in line at the DL entrance to get tickets for the show. They passed out tix @ 8am, but when I went, I got in line @ 5am and there were already a lot of people there. Unless you're a VIP guest, there's no other way to get the tickets.) It will be interesting to see how they do it this time

The MVMCP has alot of the same things you mentioned. But there is an additional charge for the party. It starts in the early evening and goes until about midnight. There are the parades and fireworks, snow, music, and my favorite, the Christmas decorations. And the thing that I find so cool about the MVMCP is that they give you (yes, no additional cost) cookies and cocoa and a free photo of you and your party and a MVMCP button. Having never been to WDW before, I thought that this was a really special event and I didnt feel cheated having to pay for the ticket into the party. The lines were short, if at all. We all agreed that it was money well spent!

The CP was awesome!!! Probably in our top five favorites from our trip. We bought the CP dinner package that included priority seating. Again, money well spent. We ate somewhere we probably would not have eaten and it made an entire evening of the "show". We ended the night with the illuminations show at Epcot.

I look forward to DL during the holidays. We were there in Dec. of 97 during the holidays and I just love all the decortaions. I look forward to being there BEFORE Christmas rather than after. The lines after Christmas were like nothing I have ever seen and hope I never see again!!! They even quit letting people in one day. The folks we talked to said that it was ALOT less crowded the days they were there before Christmas Day. They couldnt believe the difference. We will be there around the 15 Dec. Im hoping for the best.

The time between Christmas and New Years is said to be the busiest time of the year. You should have pretty light crowds since you will be there before the Christmas Rush begins.

Thats exactly what Ive heard. I dont mind lines, kind of a given when youre at a theme park. However, park capacity crowds are another story!!!
