Special Check-in Option at MCO Hyatt

Just a little heads up on leaving your luggage at the Hyatt to be picked up and you try to check it with your air tag.

It may not leave the Hyatt until about 2:30!

The last 2 times we stayed at the Hyatt, we checked our air tags and it said they were still at the Hyatt at 2pm.
We even contacted guest services the first time to have them check on our luggage.
Finally saw 2 in transfer about 3pm. For some reason the other one was not connecting to show it's real location.
This time we spoke to concierge and they told us many times the luggage does not leave the Hyatt until 2:30-3pm.

We have stayed at the Hyatt a few times before and I believe we have only had our luggage collected at the room
once before we left it.

When we check in at the Hyatt we always double check with them if they have us down for luggage pickup.
But as Mathmagicland has already said, when you check in with Disney at the Hyatt in the morning, they ask how many
pieces of luggage you have to be picked up.

So far our luggage has always made it to our room on the ship!!

FWIW this can happen at the WDW resorts, too. We used DCL transportation from Coronado Springs a couple of weeks ago, and the tracker in my luggage didn't start moving until the afternoon. Made me a bit nervous, but I trusted the system and it made it to the ship!

I had added DCL transfers to my reservation and it said Pick up at Orlando International. I emailed DCL that we are staying at Hyatt Regency at MCO, and received an email back stating that they changed pickup to Hyatt Regency Orlando International at 9300 Jeff Fuqua blvd. We have always taken our own luggage down to the check in area and handed it off there with no issues. I just don’t trust someone else getting my luggage out of an empty hotel room just my OCD😀

We were on the Fantasy last week departing on 2/21 from the Hyatt. Hyatt bell services were picking up the bags from the room next door and told us our bags were next as we were getting ready to walk down for check in at 8:30 a.m. for concierge. It was a busy day at Port Canaveral with both the WISH and Fantasy departing and the Disney Cruise folks were hopping making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be and didn't wander off. Our luggage arrived with no problems as well as returned with us to the Hyatt again for our day room since we had a late flight. It make the transition to and from the ship much more pleasant and worry free since it was a 10 hour flight both ways.

We have done this at least 4 time and will not do it any other way. Love the Hyatt and the check in process is easy. I always feel just a bit unsure trusting that my luggage will arrive at our room, but they have not failed us in 12 cruises.

Do you need to book the Hyatt through Disney to avail of the luggage pickup? If yes, can you book online or only by phoning?
Can you book directly with Hyatt hotel and if so how do you arrange luggage pickup?

Yes, you can book the Hyatt yourself online or by phone.

For the luggage pick up, that is tied to the DCL Transfer that you have to book with Disney. I think only by phone. And you tell DCL that you are staying at the Hyatt.

Then make sure that Hyatt is listed for Pick Up in your reservation, and not MCO.
