How Many new members will we have of the Grass Skirt Frat on this cruise, gotta know how many membership cards to have ready.

I am trying to convince my two sons, but at 20 and 21 they think they will look stupid. I am telling them it will be fun and they will end up enjoying it. We will see.

On a side note, we are really excited because we finally took the DVC yesterday and bought at both Animal Kingdom and a add on at Beach Club. We should have done it years ago, but better late than never.

Congrats and Welcome Home, Donna. We just bought recently also but first toured 7 years ago. Yeah, better late than never for us too! It was so fun to book that first reservation but so sad to see the points go!!

Good Morning Everybody!

Got a question - I'm working on fish extender gifts. Is there anyone on the list with nut allergies? I don't want to make anyone ill.

Thanks!

Jenny

We are debating whether or not we should check availability and use points for our post cruise stay or stick with our Grand Floridian reservation and book another trip later. I am all for a second trip in January or February to get away from the winter weather.

I have an anouncement to make as a proud Disney Dad. Last night my daughter said Micky Mouse for the first time. Up until now its always been just mouse. she said it like 6 times in a row. By the time the cruise comes around she is really going to be into Disney.

ok, thats is all.

Another beautiful BrewFest weekend in Fort Collins! Too bad the college students over run it by 2:00! Merrick and I took a walk in Old Town yesterday before it got too rowdy.....just an FYI on Old Town Fort Collins, one of the main DLR Imagineers grew up here and designed Main St DLR after it...anyway.....doesn't look too Disneyland-ish with beer tents up, though...

Today Tim and I have been married for a whole 6 years! Unfortunately, no big plans for us today. Playing hookie from church and heading up to Estes Park for a funeral. One of my work contacts died of a heart attack at 46...he was the first real mountain man I had ever met. Actually stalked his prey for weeks when hunting mountain lion and hunted with a bow....Needless to say this girl from Cleveland was a bit smitten and amazed at him (although I still don't like hunting). Cool guy. So, we will have an anniversary lunch or something up in Estes with the little man after the outdoor service. It should still be a beautiful day!!!!!

Still gotta figure out a good FE gift.....who doesn't like candy!!!!????!?!?

So has anyone done the Comfort Suites thing? We just figured we would grab a taxi both ways. Should we check in and then check out at the same time so we don't have to go back over to the hotel before heading back to the ship?

My confirmation says $280 "estimated" total. What does that mean? And do they ask how old the kids are when you check in? Just curious if it is still possible to get socked with that extra $80 charge. The total I got at the other site was $465 for the 6 of us with the room charges of $125 per night and the extra fees.

Is there anything about seeing Atlantis this way that I need to know?

We have 3 rooms booked at Comfort Suites, total cost is about $250.00 spilt between 2 families, 11 people. Grandma and Grandpa will be doing the straw market that day! My friend ( macmom03's friend Amy) is a TA so I am not sure if that was her rate or the AAA rate. For some reason there is no room rate on my confirmation but I am pretty sure that is the price she told me! Our kids are between 5 and 16 so they will have plenty of things to do. Actually the boys in the group will be coming later after a morning scuba dive with Stuarts Cove. The lower room rate allowed us to do the scuba trip also. Not sure I would pay the money for an infant that couldn't use the slides but than again if I really wanted to see Atlantis and got good rate than maybe I would! I heard the casino was awesome. I was told to take a cab also and got the same price of about $4 per person. Should be fun I am looking forward to seeing this resort! Have heard great things but a lot of walking!

Thats a very good question! I know that some people can be very sensitive. If anyone has a peanut allergies ,I would be happy to ID by (PA) or (peanut allergies). on FE list. Just pm me.

We decided to check availability for our precruise stay. We didn't want to spend the money twice so decided to try. Ended up at VWL - couldn't be happier. We bought the points to use but it was sad to see them go after wanting them for so long!!!;)

That is so cool!! You did video, right?

The casino is supposed to be the biggest one in the Bahamas. Not sure if it is still true, but at one point, it was illegal for Bahamians to gamble in the casinos. They can work there, cannot play there! The cab fare used to be regulated also. They are set rates by destination so it should be the same from cab to cab. Be sure to check out the glass sculptures on top of the cashier cages. Dale Chelule - just awesome!! We haven't been in several years and are really looking forward to it.

One thing for anyone looking for something different in Nassau. Stuart Cove offers a scuba sub as an alternative to diving. You ride an underwater scooter that has a glass bubble with oxygen so you don't even need to get your hair wet, don't need to know how to swim and can wear your glasses. They run $110 but are closed to this activity on Mondays - the day we have usually been in Nassau on our 4 day cruises. This time, we are there on Wed. so it is an option this trip. They will pick you up at the wharf. Just thought I would throw that out there for ya. Check out their website to book direct. Laxdad and Laxlad have done it and had a blast!

Ok, so my kids (and we for that matter) have never cruised.

We are currently in WA state, as we visit my mom every year for the 4th of July. Alan and I decided to try out this resort, as a warmup to the kids for the cruise. There are some kids programs here and a "key to the world" style wristband for all guests. I can open my room door, and charge to my wristband, lol.
So, we thought we'd try it out.
The kids have the freedom to play at the indoor water park here, come and go to room as they please. And try our the youth programs.
My older 2 (12 and 13) went to a teens only dance at the teen club (12 and up) last night. Daughter enjoyed, but said the music was all rap (she doesnt like rap). Son hates rap, and so bailed out early on.
The treasure hunt thing is reminiscent of "Pal Mickey"; in that you buy a wand to play and there are electronic "clues" placed all over property. But it is a hunt which sends you to next destination and other kids are playing all around you. Kinda fun.
Today we are going to check out the Cubs Club and see if it is any good. There is a craft program there at 6 so we'll see.
My husband said,
"It seems they blatantly borrowed a lot from disney. Too bad they didn't get the restaurant thing right."
It's true, the food is all mediocre and overpriced. I don't mind overpriced, but I want some quality and choice.
Ah well.
gotta go have fun now.

Thanks Virgina! That's so kind of you. It would be very helpful!

Thanks for taking care of the list!!!!! :worship:
