Good Morning Everyone! We had an earthquake this morning around 5:36. They're saying it was a 5.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was a little further north, around Salem, IL. Everything's okay here.

Hey Bob and Lee, did you guys feel it?

We rarely have those so it is a bit scary!

We felt it in Madison, Wisconsin. Been hearing from people around the city with animals that reacted to it. I called my sister in the middle of Wisconsin and she said the dog woke her up earlier than normal this morning. I asked when and it was right at the time of the earthquake.

How scary, when I first read the posts about it, I was thinking of calling my family in Orange, CA. I am surprised to see earthquakes in your area. Have a BIL and his family in La Crosse , they are going on cruise too, have to check and see if they felt it.

They very well could have. It wasn't much though.

We felt the quake here in Cincinnati. Strange thing...our dogs woke us up a few minutes before it. DH thought they wanted out so he went downstairs to put them out. I stayed in bed and the bed started to shake. It felt like one of the pups was still there scratching. I kept telling him to knock it off and then realized I was in the room alone! Really weird way to start the day!

Big news for us this week. We passed ROFR on a small DVC contract on HHI. It's a small getaway for DH and I now that kids are older. We are so excited!

So as of right now we are just flying out to Orlando on hopefully the night before the cruise and then flying back to California. I'm trying to convince my boyfriend that we will regret not going to WDW for at least a couple days since we are already out there.

His biggest thing is park tickets. He said we can't afford it especially since this is our first cruise and we probably will splurge on excursions and merchandise. But will we kick ourselves for not going? Is it worth just staying in a DVC studio and not doing the parks?

So as of right now we are just flying out to Orlando on hopefully the night before the cruise and then flying back to California. I'm trying to convince my boyfriend that we will regret not going to WDW for at least a couple days since we are already out there.

His biggest thing is park tickets. He said we can't afford it especially since this is our first cruise and we probably will splurge on excursions and merchandise. But will we kick ourselves for not going? Is it worth just staying in a DVC studio and not doing the parks?

Since you will be off the ship first thing in the morning, that would give you Saturday at the park, and Sunday if you wanted.

Yes, do it.
Every cruise, except one, we have flown back the morning of debarkation.
This time we will stay a AKL for a couple of days. We may not go to the parks, but it will be just a little icing on the cake so to speak.
Even if you don't go to the parks, you could still go to Downtown Disney and do a little shopping or enjoy a good meal.

I did not feel them. I was on my way to work when the first hit. 5.2.
I was at work when the second 4.8 hit at about noon.

Belle did not act strange before hand, but I guess she looked confused during the main quake. The quake lasted about 5 seconds and just kinda rolled from south to north.

Quakes are unusual here in the midwest. They tend to be smaller, but felt further due to the old plates/faults.
The largest quake in the Midwest was in the early 1800's.
8.0 on the scale. Casued the Mississippi to change course and even flow backwards for a while when Reelfoot lake was formed in Tennessee.
Aftershocks were felt for weeks after.

I live in Cincinnati too. After reading the posts yesterday I finally turned on the TV and noticed quite a few people felt it here. We never did. We are all very sound sleepers though.

STAY!!!!! You at least have to see Epcot and the Studios... It's only money and life is short!!!!

while she is filming, in the area.

as i type now, i am watching the dowtown area of Roclport,
that they have transformed into Sitka Alaska..

they are done filming, at this location.
but have not taken down, the totem poles and welcome to Sitka signs.. and some of the building facades?
so im am watching the stuff for them..
