Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued

I was just wondering, what is everyone's plans prior to the cruise?
Will you be staying on Disney property, near the port or going directly to the ship or something completely different?(say in your best Monty Python voice-"And now for something completely different".)
Peter- is there a list of who is doing what?

I am still deciding. As of now I have ressies at POR--hoping they announce free dining! although, I am finding that I want to stay at a DVC resort, but I won't get free dining. I am also thinking of staying near the port at the beach for a day or 2, but I am not sure about that.

We are staying at Old Key West for a week, Pop Century, Radisson at the port for one night and after the cruise back to Old Key West for another week.

We changed our schedule so that the in-laws can sample a different Disney resort for future choices.

Good morning CRUISERS!!! Can't wait!

No snow for us here in NJ, but we do have flood warnings. It looks like we've escaped having any major snow this year. Elaine... stay safe wiht all of the white stuff.

NJ used to have wonderful winters, but not this year!

We'll be coming in on the Friday before the cruise and leaving the Sunday after. Staying at... Mouse Beach.

I have an Hp 17" just purchased.

Was a hard time deciding dell hp dell hp.


I think the girl across the street, Sandra, has the unsecured network.
so i can open it up and connect to the net.


As i don't have a router and would just remove the ethernet plug from desktop pc.

since it is new to me also, im not quite as hooked up as i would like to be!


but with the unsecured network, working just fine, I am not doing anything about it.

When i speak to Sandra, I may have her password protect the network.
But I am sure she will give it to me!

We are going to Disney before the cruise and staying at the Grand Floridian. We are coming down Friday August 29th and spending the weekend at Disney.

David-that looks like alot moving, but I know how difficult it can be to use those DVC points on a Fri. and Sat.

(?) I am not sure what MouseBeach is.

Points aren't the problem (we'll be staying at OKW for Christmas again - my wife Helen wants to give her parents a taste of a value resort in case they want to go to Disney again. Her mother is a big fan of the 60s & 70s so we think she'll enjoy it there.

Hope the weekend is going well.
Here it is cool but mostly sunny. Not bad for the first week of March.
I know without reading the threads that there is some whining about snow.
Sigh. Ours is almost melted with no more in the near future.

I know spring is almost here.
There were about 30 robins foraging in the back yard this afternoon.
Tweet. Tweet. Tweet. Tweet. Tweet. Tweet. Tweet.
Now, I've seen the geese flyover.
Problem is some fly north, but then others seem to be flying back south.
Kinda in a southeasterly direction.

...Oh yes--Did anyone see the Travel channel last night. I was flipping through and they had DCL feature. Does Disney own Travel Channel-there seem to be alot of Disney features. I love watching them--it is like a Calgon moment. (do they still make Calgon?)

I believe they do. "Calgon, take me away"?

I liked the old comercials for the Calcon water softner poweder.
"Ancient Chineese Secret, Huh?" Those were good.

My laptop has been ordered....anticipated delivery date is March 24!!!!!!

I have a really KEWL jeweled princess crown that I think I might use to decorate my Flamingo Pink laptop...like the pink colour isn't girlie enough!!!!!!!!!!

Elaine, Ditto on what Bob has posted, if storage is ever an issue one can get a small in physical size USB hard drive to take along. They are getting very reasonable. I haev had a couple of Dell's and like them, currently I haev a sony VIO, I like it, size for travel is nice, Running Vista and have not had a problem. At work we are running all Mac's, and I do like my mac book pro laptop using boot camp to run XP on it. I stayed with teh windows machines for home because of GPS programs and others in that environment. My VIO is Blue with a plathora of Disney Stickers.

Alos any laptop or computer you get has a ton of useless junk on it that slows them down, so keep that in mind, and plan on checking to see what ya really need.
The OS system Ubutu is pretty KEWL and is Lenix based, gaining popularity.

Scott, I had not heard of Ubuntu. Had to do a Wikipedia.
Very Interesting. Linux is a good alternative.
Since I am such a conventional guy, I will just stay with Vista and XP.

Blue sounds KEWL. This laptop is silver with a white top. HP.
Almost bought a SONY VAIO. Love Sony.
But had an HP before and it was great and just fell in with this one.
Alas, no stickers on this one.

External hard drives are really inexpensive. More reliable than they used to be.
I just thought it made sense to buy one for storing STUFF.
Right now, I use if for back-up too. When I get too much STUFF on it I will get a separate back-up unit.

okay....looks like we will be house bound this weekend....the snow has started and isn't expected to end until Sunday afternoon....we could get as much as 20 inches of snow!!!!!!!

O.K. NEZY, as of right now these are our plans...
Fly in the day of the cruise
Cruise 'til we drop.
Then stay at Disney Animal Kingdom Villas saturday and sunday.

This is the first cruise in a long time we do not have to hurry to catch a flight home.

Now I know why I did the secure network here.
It is amazing how many home nets there are here in the neighborhood.
All but one are secure.

Old Key West is THE favorite place. That's where we own.
