GOOD GRIEF!

I came back from Florida and thought I lost everyone! :scared1:

So glad we're started up again and that Peter copied everything over again!

Cheryl!!! Have fun! What a SPECIAL event.

We'll be going down again this weekend (taking Monday off) and leaving Tuesday. At least there's a long weekend there for us! Too bad we can't stay the whole week :goodvibes

TX Crew: So sorry you can't make the cruise... BUT CONGRATULATIONS on your #6!!! :thumbsup2

Lynn, hope the winds have died down for you!

Well, there are 874 rooms on the ship!
I believe! some of the Disers are in the same cabins.
So, we will let Scott take it from here!

Ps: Im skipping Hazwhoper40 class tonight! LOL ok so only 36 hours instead!

I'm home sick today and surfing the web. :headache: I couldn't believe it so I had to check for myself! The cruise IS sold out!! Disney cruise.com and vacationstogo.com. WOW. My friends keep making fun of me for booking so early but they know nothing of Disney.

I am waiting until we get onboard to book Christmas 2009. I hope it is still available when we are ready.

:surfweb:

Do you think they will assign guaranteed rooms to specific cabins now since we are sold out or will we have to wait until Summer? I would think they could get it out of the way since the roster shouldn't change much now.

Unless of course, people fail to make the final payment...

I'm just dying to know what room we're in and start reading stateroom reports...

:surfweb:

Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. It is also known as Mardi Gras Day or Shrove Day. It is a day when people eat all they want of everything and anything they want as the following day is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of a long fasting period for Christians. In addition to fasting, christians also give up something special that they enjoy. So, Fat Tuesday is a celebration and the opportunity to enjoy that favorite food or snack that you give up for the long lenten season.

Here in the UK it's known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day.

Scott is absolutely correct.
But, this is how I see it....
Fat Tuesday is the English equivalent of the French term Mardi Gras.
This is the last day of Carnival. In some places the Carnival festival is also called Mardi Gras. (such as New Orleans)
Usually Carnival begins on the third Sunday before Ash Wednesday.
Ash Wednesday is 46 days before Easter sunday.

Now that the book keeping is done.
In New Orleans, Mardi Gras is one big party. Fat Tuesday is the biggest day of that party.
We have been there a couple of times. There is nothing like it.

Kid, you really need to do it some time.
And get all the beads ya can.:rolleyes1

We had Bourbon Chicken and Étouffée (or etouffee)
Hurricanes to wash it down.

Sorry Scott, no gumbo, so no french bread to wipe the bowl.

I did a quick check.
I just assumed that they would celebrate at least in Quebec, because of the French origin.

Pancakes sound good too.
Now if I can just locate a source for coconut pancake syrup.:goodvibes
