The address was correct. Thank goodness. I was picturing my box of cute little FE gifts and all the goodies for my kiddos first cruise languishing in some "lost package" storehouse somewhere.

I did not know there should have been a packing list. I hope that doesn't negatively impact my ability to receive my boxes??

Here's hoping the Fairy Godmother of UPS is on my side!

My kids first day back in public school (we've homeschooled for past 2 years) went really well! They are on their best behavior, though. Their Dad explained that even ships have places for kids to be "grounded".

He couldn't really do it. But I'm glad they believed him! See you all on Monday.

I finally received my vacation approval and have Sunday off.

If we miss a port due to weather, we can plan some more activities: DIS lunch, a photo scavenger hunt, DIS tag, movies...

DIS Tag?? Can I be the base? There's no way I can outrun you.

Does anyone know if Disny ever canceled a cruise due to bad weather

The only time that I can recall a cruise being canceled was due to the Norwalk virus. They just couldn't stop it so they canceled a cruise to do a thorough cleaning of the ship. However, there have been some lenghtened/shortened itineraries because of bad weather.

It looks like Gustav is headed to the Gulf. Glad he's changing his path! I was really getting worried yesterday. Feeling better now.

I saw that too. It's a no win situation. While I definitely want it to go elsewhere, I hate knowing it could mean the Gulf getting slammed again.

Hmm. I wouldn't feel better too soon. Unfortunately, the Magic has to GET to Port Canaveral to collect us.

My fingers are definitely crossed for a good outcome for all of us!

Thanks for the number. I did go through the phone shuffle with the reservations people this morning. A really helpful lady got in touch with the ship but things just didn't work out.

The staff on the ship could not guarantee that someone would be able to administer the test. It was a long shot and honestly I didn't expect them to do it but I've got to give credit to both the state and the ship for trying.

Everything happens for a reason and there must be a reason I'm not supposed to have this particular job!

Too bad it didn't work out, Cathy. I'm so glad you're able to be philosophical about it, so it won't put a cloud over your trip!

Things are very crazy here. Mom B completed tests yesterday. We're waiting for the doctor today!

They should be able to skirt north of it. They are schedueled to be in Aruba on Thursday so they will be out of the Gulf before Gustove gets there.

Anybody else think of Ratatuie everytime they hear about this storm?

Has anyone heard from anyone on the ship? Do they know about this?

A thought... let's hope the hurricane doesn't affect the Magic's return. I had a friend on a 7 day Western who was re-routed to Texas for 2 days to sit out a hurricane. The folks who were set to cruise out after her cruise got a shorter trip.

I really need ALL 5 DAYS!!!

Has anyone seen the list of movies playing onboard? I'm pretty sure Wall E will be one of them, but thought I should be sure on that before I tell my son.

And guess what, my BIL is now coming on this cruise with us. We added him to our room last week. He was originally coming, but then decided to switch jobs, which meant starting the new place Sept 1, so he couldn't come on the cruise. This happened in April. So my SIL decided to take her cousin along instead. Well when her husband told his current job he was leaving, they offered him a better position. So now he's staying there and can get the vacation time so he's coming after all. Worked out well as I'm sure SIL and their kids will love having him there. Of course, it means one more person is in our room (SIL's room holds 4, so the cousin had to move in with us now), but hey, I knew we got that Cat 2 for a reason!

Friends of ours were on that shorter cruise in 2004, in fact, they are the friends who are taking us to the airport this Sunday.
